Abstract: A flexible amplification system for wireless data networks is disclosed. The amplification system may be powered from multiple sources including power over coaxial cable, obviating the need for independent data and power cables. The amplification system may be digitally controlled to optimize bi-directional transmit and receive capabilities and to produce a constant output.

Abstract: A preconfigured antenna assembly for use in a target topographic region. The antenna assembly includes an antenna chassis covered by a radome cover and a set of antennas mounted to the chassis. The mounting mechanism for each antenna allows each antenna to be aimed by adjusting an angle of inclination between a long axis of the antenna and a plane defined by the antenna chassis. The antennas are separated by an angular and linear spacing to minimize interference between adjacent antennas and provide a desired signal coverage for the antenna assembly.
Abstract: A helical antenna includes an elongate core attached to a back plate, and a radiating element in the shape of a helix that rests in a helical groove formed in an exterior major surface of the elongate core. The helical antenna further has an impedance matching section, with a narrow end and a wide end, that is seated in the helical groove at a predetermined distance from the back plate and connected to the radiating element at the narrow end of the impedance matching section.
