Patents Assigned to Lyon Metal Products, Incorporated
  • Patent number: 4804876
Abstract: The cabinet comprises a case carrying a plurality of slidably mounted drawers. At the back of the drawers a latch bar is vertically oriented and pivotal between latch and unlatch positions. The bar has a flange which fits into keeper structure on a clip protruding from each drawer in the latch condition. A camming surface on each clip moves the latch bar to a latch position after one drawer is withdrawn so that none of the other drawers can be withdrawn. As the drawer is closed, another camming surface on the clip moves the latch bar back to an unlatch position. To insure alignment of the last mentioned camming surface with the latch bar, a slot is provided in the clip on each drawer which slot is aligned with an alignment flange attached to the case.

  • Patent number: 4614374
Abstract: The latch housing is made from a sheet of metal cut and bent to form a back wall and top and bottom and side walls which extend forwardly therefrom. The side walls diverge from each other so that the forward edges of the side walls are spaced apart a distance greater than the width of the opening in the door. The side walls are movable toward one another between the top and bottom walls to enable insertion of the housing into the opening. When mounted, the side walls extend between the top and bottom walls with their bottom edges overlying the upper surface of the bottom wall to conceal from view the space between the side walls and the bottom wall.

  • Patent number: 4513669
Abstract: Shelving structure comprises a post having two flanges, a shelf having a top wall and side flanges, and several clips to attach each corner of each shelf to an associated post. Each clip has two perpendicular flanges, one pair of coplanar fingers extending from one flange and another pair of coplanar fingers extending from the other flange. Each finger carries a hook. The fingers are located in corresponding apertures in a post and the hook bears against the outer surface of the post. The shelf flanges fit between the clip and the associated post flanges.

  • Patent number: 4408928
Abstract: A rectangular channel member has coplanar spaced-apart wall portions defining a slot therebetween and each having a flange extending from the slot inwardly of the channel member and away from the other wall portion at an acute angle. A generally U-shaped connector is disposable within the channel member across the slot and includes rectangular recesses receiving the flanges therein. A threaded fastener engageable with the connector extends through the slot for engagement with a support member, tighening of the fastener causing deformation of the flanges by the connector for wedging the flanges in the connector recesses. The support member may constitute a bracket for coupling the channel member to another channel member, several different bracket constructions being disclosed for coupling to different types of channel members and for different orientations of the channel members.

  • Patent number: 4352529
Abstract: The system includes an elongated latching bar located behind the drawers and rotatable between latching and unlatching positions. A spring biases the latching bar to its latching position. A latching clip is mounted on each drawer and has a cam for engaging the latching bar and causing rotation thereof to its unlatching position as the drawer is closed. The latching clip has a keeper for receiving the latching bar as it rotates back to its latching position.

  • Patent number: 4300313
Abstract: A fence or railing construction includes two vertical spaced-apart railing posts defining a gateway therebetween and each provided with an elongated vertical guide member which projects into the gateway. A gate is provided with vertical end posts in the form of channel members, the slots of which are dimensioned for respectively receiving therein the guide members, the gate being dimensioned so that the guide members can be inserted into the slots of the gate end posts only by vertical sliding movement. The railing posts and gate end posts are channel members of substantially identical transverse cross section. Two different forms of channel member are disclosed.

  • Patent number: 4191412
Abstract: A door closure apparatus is provided for automatically closing a bifold door of a storage cabinet for combustible materials in the event of elevated temperatures. A guide assembly hingedly mounted on the free end of the folding door includes guide fingers which ride along a guide path in a channel guide track at the top of the cabinet. At one end of the track there is mounted a bracket slidably carrying a latch member movable between a latching condition in the guide path and a release condition out of the guide path. The latch member is normally held in its latching condition by a spring and fusible link combination which override a smaller spring urging the latch member toward its release condition. Upon melting of the fusible link the latch member is moved to its release condition by the smaller spring. The latch member is shaped to permit the guide member to cam past it as the door moves to its open position but prevents return movement of the guide member to hold the door in its open position.

  • Patent number: 4178049
Abstract: A shelf box is designed for use with a shelf rack or storage cabinet open on both sides so that the shelf box can be removed from either side of the rack or cabinet. Two stop members are respectively mounted adjacent to opposite ends of the shelf box for pivotal movement between stop and release positions, and are interconnected by a pivoting linkage so that when one stop member is in its stop position the other stop member is in its release position. The stop members are disposed so that in their stop positions they are engageable with retaining portions of the overlying shelf. Thus, when one end of the shelf box is withdrawn from the rack or cabinet it will be stopped by engagement of the adjacent shelf retaining portion with the stop member at the opposite end of the shelf box in its stop position to prevent inadvertent complete removal of the shelf box.
