Patents Assigned to M.A. Industries, Inc.
  • Patent number: 4397424
Abstract: A system for receiving and crushing whole lead acid storage batteries, and for classifying the components of crushed batteries into lead oxide, lead metal, plastic case components, and rubber case components and other fragments. Whole batteries are crushed into component particles, and lead oxide from the batteries is placed in liquid suspension. The lead oxide is subsequently removed by three separate settling and classifying tanks. Lead metal is removed by a liquid upflow column separation. A flotation tank and surface skimming arrangement separates plastic case fragments from rubber fragments.

  • Patent number: 4365780
Abstract: The present device is especially useful for positioning on forms prior to the pouring of concrete for removal therefrom to create holes in the concrete to receive inserts therein such as in making holes in concrete for steps to be used in a manhole. A tapered steel shaft of any selected length has a collar fixed near one end thereof with an elongated handle passing transversely therethrough. The collar has slanted cam edges on each end providing a cam surface which is approximately 12.degree. from a line perpendicular to the axis. A second collar identical to the first is welded to a form, such as a steel concrete form used in pouring concrete for manholes. The second collar also has slanted cam edges providing a cam surface corresponding to the slanted cam edges on the first collar and there is a hole passing through the steel pin and through the second collar to receive a removable latch pin therein.

  • Patent number: 4035048
Abstract: A cable connector assembly in which connector bodies carry spaced parallel cable contact members. Each cable contact member of one connector body is engageable with one of the cable contact members of the other connector body. A male ground contact is mounted in one of the connector bodies parallel to the cable contact members thereof and a female ground contact is mounted in the other cable connector body parallel to the cable contact members thereof. A latch in the connector body which has the female ground contact is movable transversely of the female ground contact and can engage in a slot in the male ground contact when the connector bodies are in assembled relation.

  • Patent number: 3960427
Abstract: An end fitting retainer for welding equipment which holds a cable end fitting on a connector stud. The retainer includes a nut for threadably engaging the stud. A housing rotatably supports the nut. Guard members in a socket in the housing surrounding the head end of the nut overlie the nut. An opening in the guard members permits a wrench to turn the nut but prevents entry of a finger. A flange on the nut engages flanges on the guard members to hold the guard members in the socket. Interconnecting means on the housing and on the nut retains the nut in the housing.
