  • Patent number: 5011519
Abstract: In-line filter device including a first and a second filter disposed parallel with each other on a trap structure such that the filters communicate with a trap chamber defined in the trap structure, so that water and/or oil vapor contained in compressed air flowing through the first filter are coalesced into droplets, which are captured in the trap chamber, while any remaining liquid particles in the air are vaporized during passage through the second filter. The device has a reduced-pressure sump in the bottom portion of the trap structure, and inlet holes through which the captured liquid flows from the trap chamber into the sump such that an upper open end of the tube is positioned in a flow path of the air between the trap chamber and the second filter, for sucking the atmosphere in the sump toward the second filter. A draining device is provided in the bottom portion of the sump, for discharging the liquid out of the sump.

  • Patent number: 4897094
Abstract: A filter device including an intermediate sleeve, an upper and a lower cap closing the upper and lower ends of the sleeve and cooperating with the sleeve to define an upper and a lower volume on opposite sides of an inner partition wall, and an inner tube disposed in the lower volume so as to extend from the partition wall and cooperating with the lower cap to define an inner space and an outer space which communicate with each other through a bottom space formed below the inner tube. The lower volume communicates with the upper volume through the inner space. The sleeve has an inlet port communicating with the outer space and receiving an incoming compressed air, and an outlet port communicating with the upper volume for discharging the air. The outer space is filled with a first packing. A porous structure is accommodated within the bottom space, for trapping droplets from the compressed air flowing through the first packing.

  • Patent number: 4848989
Abstract: An in-line filter device including a double-walled tube filter assembly, and an upper cap and a lower cap which are held in communication with upper and lower open ends of the filter assembly. The filter assembly has an inner tube and an outer tube which are disposed in radially spaced, and coaxial relation with each other, so as to define an annular space therebetween. One of the inner tube and the annular space is filled with a first pad adapted to coalesce vapor in compressed air passing therethrough, into droplets, while the other of the inner tube and the annular space is filled with a second pad adapted to vaporize residual liquid particles remaining in the compressed air which has passed the first pad. The upper cap has an inlet connected to the upstream side of a compressed air conduit and communicating with the first pad incorporated within the double-walled tube filter assembly. The upper cap further has an outlet connected to the downstream side of the conduit and communicating with the second pad.

  • Patent number: 4104965
Abstract: A special-purpose clutch incorporated in a drive mechanism of hot stamping apparatus wherein heated type on a rotary type carrier is periodically pressed against a printing ribbon in superposition on a continuous strip of plastics or other material being fed at constant speed over a platen, thereby imprinting characters on the strip at constant spacings. The clutch comprises a drive disk mounted on a motor output shaft, a driven disk mounted on a type carrier shaft, and a spring through which rotation is normally imparted from the drive to driven disk. The spring is yieldable to permit the driven disk to be rotated, while the heated type is being pressed each time against the printing ribbon, by the strip of material at lower speed than the drive disk. The angular speed of the type being pressed against the ribbon can thus be precisely synchronized with the linear speed of the strip traveling over the platen.

  • Patent number: 4063500
Abstract: For imprinting characters on a continuous strip of plastics or other material by pressing heated type against a printing ribbon thereon, the strip is fed at constant speed over a platen in a direction opposite to the direction of travel of the printing ribbon from payoff reel to takeup reel. The type is mounted on a rotary type carrier over the platen, for revolution in a direction in conformity with the traveling direction of the strip. While the heated type is being pressed against the superposed ribbon and strip over the platen, the ribbon is thereby transported a predetermined distance toward the payoff reel with the strip relative to the platen and, when subsequently released by the type, is pulled back the same distance toward the takeup reel by a spring-energized pullback lever. The ribbon is then wound up onto the takeup reel via a pair of drawoff rollers just by a length corresponding to the width of the character or characters on the typeface.
