Abstract: A composition for inhibiting the formation of an emulsion between naphthenic acid and metal ions in a hydrocarbon body, the composition including at least one alkoxylated amine in an amount of up to 30% w/w, at least one acid in an amount of from 2 to 10% w/w and at least one alcohol in an amount of from 30 to 70% w/w. A method for inhibiting the formation of an emulsion between naphthenic acid and metal ions in a hydrocarbon body using such a composition is also proposed.
