Abstract: Oil-collection system and oil-collecting barge. The system comprises a towing vessel and a transport barge, which has a catamaran structure, so that there are oil collectors in its pontoons. Guide booms are attached to the sides of the barge, with a structure that is tubular frame around a wall, in which the air space or volume of the lowest tube corresponds to the boom's own weight. When using a larger capacity in collection, the additional booms on the deck are filled with air and simultaneously pulled into operating condition with the aid of auxiliary boats, when towable booms are formed. With the aid of the invention, transport barge with a rapidly moveable structure, equipped with oil collectors is obtained, which can be attached to a towing vessel, and which in maritime conditions is stable and operable when towed.

Abstract: Two segments according to the invention, which form a brush structure created by brush fibres and plastic rings, are joined together by bolts or screws and sleeves with a water-permeable discoid hub, in such a way that a separate brush structure can be joined to the segments by stud bolts or similar, to the metal ring of which a plastic ring, equipped with brush fibres, is attached for the collection of very heavy oils. For the cleaning of the brush fibres of the segment and the good recovery of the oil being collected, there is a curved metal sheet, preferably on supports, as a continuation of the cleaner, and which forms a casing-like space, preventing the oil flowing off the brushes from returning to the water circulation and improving the collection capacity. The device is suitable, for instance, for the collection of all grades of oil, with continuously changing properties.

Abstract: The cleaner according to the invention includes a body part, which includes curved wiping tongues. The lower part of the body is the cleaner's curved lower plate and in its upper part are upper plates and an attachment plate, which is attached to the body of the collector by an attachment beam. The construction of the collector is based on discs surrounding a drum and permitting water to flow through them, to which are attached plastic rings and, attached to them, a brush ring formed of brushes extending over the curved rear wall. The invention also discloses a cleaner, by means of which the brushes are cleaned, which, for example, are attached to a V-shaped brush structure, in which there is a plastic bodied brush ring, and in the cleaner there is a point-shaped plate and its bent point shape.

Abstract: The invention relates to an oil collector including a brush (3), provided with substantially straight bristles (1) and a horizontal shaft (2), and a cleaning structure in the upper part of the brush for cleaning the brush from oil. According to the invention, the bristles (1) of the brush (3) are substantially parallel to the horizontal shaft (2).

Abstract: In an oil spill response system, oil on the water surface is collected into an oil combating vessel having at its side an inlet at the water level and a water flow conduit extending from the inlet, the flow conduit having an oil separating unit separating the oil present on the surface, and the flow conduit leading to a return conduit provided with an outlet. The oil separating unit includes a first separator installed in the flow conduit in the flow direction of water and formed by a brush cassette constituting a separating surface obliquely rising from the water in the flow direction of water, and following the brush cassette a framework module disposed in the flow conduit, to which framework module the brush cassette is supported. The framework module has a second separator with a rotating drum brush, and water outlets directing the cleaned water to the return conduit.

Abstract: An oil collecting apparatus and a corresponding method for collecting oil from the surface of water, the oil collecting apparatus includes a set of oil booms (3) coupled to form a long line of oil booms. The line of oil booms includes, at a distance from each other, a number of anchorage points (4) for anchoring the oil boom (3) onto the sea bed and, in addition, between the anchorage points and in conjunction with the oil boom there is an oil collecting station (5) for collecting the oil directed by the booms from the surface of water.
