  • Patent number: 4601111
Abstract: The gear tooth test feeler contains a sensing lever pivotally journalled in a carrier member by means of a cross-spring joint. The cross-spring joint generates a counter-force which increases in proportion to the angular deflection of the sensing lever. Two rocking levers are arranged on opposite sides of the sensing lever. The two rocking levers are positioned between the carrier member and the sensing lever by further pivot bearings and stop members such that the rocking levers maintain the sensing lever in a central position and such that the sensing lever entrains one of the rocking levers whenever the sensing lever deflects while the other rocking lever retains its initial position and vice-versa. Two permanent magnets fastened to the sensing lever exert a magnetic force of attraction upon each of the ferrous rocking levers.

  • Patent number: 4532715
Abstract: The inspection or measuring machine is suitable for measuring the circular pitch spacing of teeth on gears of large diameter since the measurement results are not negatively influenced by the finite resolution of the graduations of the angular displacement sensing means. The signal pulses .phi..sub.i delivered by the angular displacement sensing means are input into a control processor together with a value r.sub.i of the current measuring radius delivered by a linear displacement measuring system. The control processor computes a corresponding arc-length b therefrom. The path distance T.sub.s (X) corresponding to the deflection of the measurement sensing feeler is measured from the beginning of a linear region of response of the measurement sensing means as recognized by a range comparator. A logic gate initiates the computation of the true arc-length B on the measurement-circle from the calculated arc-length b and the measured path length T.sub.

  • Patent number: 4373268
Abstract: A gear measuring machine for inspecting helical gears contains a feeler for sensing the tooth flank of the gear being tested. Since the contact point between the feeler and the tooth flank is located by the amount of the helix angle below a horizontal line extending through the feeler tip it is necessary when recording a profile diagram of the gear tooth to take into account the distance r.multidot.cos .beta..sub.b to obtain an exact zero point for the start of the profile diagram. To determine such zero point the gear measuring machine uses a digital circuit arrangement containing a generating or roll path counter and a correction counter. The correction counter continues to count until its count has reached a value corresponding to the aforementioned distance. Then the generating or roll path counter is started.

  • Patent number: 4247157
Abstract: A cant or tiltable segment-radial bearing comprises a support segment and two guide segments in which there is mounted a shaft. The shaft can be sprayed with lubricant by means of nozzle tubes which are arranged in the intermediate spaces between the support segment and each of the guide segments and in the intermediate space between both of the guide segments, respectively. The nozzle tubes extend in spaced relationship from such segments essentially parallel to the shaft axis. Since the support segment has a large width in relation to the diameter of the shaft an intensive lubrication of such support segment is required, wherefore this support segment is subdivided by a lubricant outflow groove which extends in the circumferential direction.

  • Patent number: 4246994
Abstract: An automatically engageable synchronous jaw clutch with hydraulic engagement-servo device, comprising a respective toothed drive and power take-off clutch half and a clutch star, which is guided to be axially displaceable by means of a first gear-tooth system upon one of the toothed clutch halves and can be engaged, by means of a second gear-tooth system, with the other clutch half. A screw socket controls, during clutching or engagement, the clutch star. This screw socket is in meshing engagement, by means of a pair of coarse-pitch thread means with one of the clutch halves and can be coupled, by means of a pawl blocking device with the other clutch half. The engagement-servo device contains a piston which entrains the clutch star, and the displacement of the piston, initiated by the screw socket, controls an infeed channel leading to a servo cylinder chamber of the servo device, in order to hydraulically augment the engagement of the clutch.
