Abstract: An electronic document distribution network is provided having dynamic document interchange protocol generation. The electronic document distribution network has a dynamically variable number of communicating data processors at various locations, and these processors have dynamically varying data processing capabilities. Means are provided which take into account the dynamically variable nature of the distribution network in providing document interchange protocols between any two processors in the network. The invention comprises means whereby any processor in the network may establish a communications linkage with any other processor.
