Abstract: A chinstrap with a chin cup for a protective headgear that has a first side panel covering at least a portion of one side of the head of a user and a second side panel covering at least a portion of the opposite side of the head. The chinstrap includes a first free end attachment to the chin cup and extends laterally therefrom from cup and a second free end attached to the chin cup extending laterally therefrom opposite the first free end. A hook/loop fastening system is attached to the free ends of the chinstrap and chin cup whereby the free ends operatively engage the headgear and are releasable secured to the chin cup.

Abstract: A protective headgear device comprises a circumferential member composed of a foam material, having an interior that generally conforms to the shape of one's head. The circumferential member has a first opening for viewing and a second open through which the neck of the user extends. A plurality of internal pads is secured to an interior surface of the circumferential member, and the pads are spaced apart from one another, to protect predetermined sensitive areas of the head. Impact plates are affixed to the interior surface of circumferential member, and each impact plate is disposed between the circumferential member and a corresponding internal pad. The impact plates supplement the protection of the internal pads and the circumferential member for absorbing trauma forces applied to the headgear.

Abstract: A protective glove of flexible, resilient foam material has a rear portion partially encircling the wrist and held thereto by a releasable circumferential elastic strap and a front portion, including a knuckle covering thickened portion and a downwardly extending finger covering portion, held in place by a laterally extending palm strap. The inside surface of the finger portion includes a ladder-like member having first and second elongated laterally extending bands joined at intermediate points by three cross-member bands which define two loops through which second and third fingers pass to draw the front and rear portions together to tighten the glove when making a fist. One band is attached to the glove to form an integral part of the inner surface of the finger portion, and has ends extending beyond the cross-members. The other band is raised above the inner surface and has free floating end appendages beyond the cross-member junctures which assist in grasping and distribution of glove tightening forces.

Abstract: An improved protective device for the arm of a person receiving blows from a participant in martial arts activities or the like. The device includes a main body portion formed of a resilient, conformable material such as a closed cell polyvinyl chloride foam and a pliable coating of polyvinyl chloride or the like. The main body portion has an enlarged main section, an outwardly extending hand section and an inwardly extending elbow section. The hand and elbow sections are circumferentially displaced with respect to each other. Straps secure the main body portion to the arm of a wearer. Hand pieces secure opposite edges of the device at the hand portion for being gripped by the wearer and to assist in correct placement.

Abstract: An improved headgear conformable to the head of a wearer and capable of absorbing energy to thereby protect the wearer against blows to the head. The headgear is fabricated of foam coated with a pliable coating. The foam is shaped as a circumferential strip adapted to encompass the head of the wearer and includes a first portion extending across the wearer's forehead, a second portion extending across the back of the wearer's head and intermediate portions extending across the sides of the wearer's head. The intermediate portions couple the wide portion and narrow portion. A concave region is formed in the interior of the wide portion to create a dome-shaped air space between the back of the wearer's head and the interior of the headgear for the increased absorption of the force of a blow to the back of the head of a wearer.

Abstract: An improved protective device for the thigh and knee of a participant in martial art activities or the like. The device includes a main body portion formed of a resilient, conformable foam such as a closed cell polyvinyl chloride foam or the like with a pliable coating of polyvinyl chloride or the like. The main body portion has an enlarged main section, an upwardly extending tapering section, a downwardly extending larger lower section and a downwardly extending smaller lower section. The downwardly extending larger lower section and the downwardly extending smaller lower section are separated by a recess with the recess being located closer to one edge than the other. Straps secure the main body portion to the thigh and knee of a wearer.

Abstract: A unitary leg and foot protective device of soft energy absorbing material which may be worn by a human comprising a lower portion for covering the top and sides of the foot of the wearer, a middle portion for covering the front and sides of the ankle of the wearer and an upper portion covering the shin of the wearer.
