Patents Assigned to Mactron, Inc.
  • Patent number: 5240502
Abstract: An improvement is provided in a coating system including a dispenser, a coating outlet for delivering a coating material to a surface of a moving workpiece to which coating is to be applied in a desired pattern, and a dispensing control for producing control signals in a predetermined fashion for initiating and terminating the release of coating material to the outlet. The improvement includes a wiping member selectively advanceable and retractable relative to the coating outlet for wiping excess coating material therefrom and a cleaning control responsive to predetermined control signals from the dispensing control for advancing and retracting the wiping member in a predetermined fashion.

  • Patent number: 5201973
Abstract: Apparatus for applying a predetermined glue pattern to a predetermined surface of a workpiece, which workpiece is moved in a stepwise, indexed fashion, such that this predetermined surface thereof follows a given path. The predetermined pattern includes first portion which extends along a line which intersects the given path. The apparatus includes a non-contact glue valve having an outlet; a carrier for mounting the glue valve for bidirectional motion along the line intersecting the given path with the outlet thereof in alignment with the first portion of the predetermined pattern and spaced closely above the predetermined surface of the workpiece. A control is provided for turning the glue valve on and off in a predetermined fashion for depositing glue upon the predetermined surface of the workpiece in the first portion of the pattern.

  • Patent number: 4527510
Abstract: An improvement in apparatus for applying a coating to a surface of a moving workpiece including a coating dispenser having at least one coating outlet for dispensing a stream of coating. A dispenser control unit is operatively coupled with the dispenser for normally initiating and terminating the dispensing of the stream of coating as predetermined parts of the workpiece surface come into alignment with the coating outlet in response to the speed and position of the workpiece surface. The invention provides a minimum coating control coacting with the dispenser control unit for depositing a coating of a selectable minimum length to at least one portion of the workpiece surface, said selectable minimum length being substantially less than that achievable by said dispenser control unit alone.

  • Patent number: 4408562
Abstract: Apparatus for applying a coating to a surface of a moving workpiece comprises a coating dispenser having at least one coating outlet spaced apart from the workpiece surface for dispensing a stream of coating. A dispenser control unit is operatively coupled with the dispensing means for initiating and terminating the dispensing of the stream of coating as predetermined parts of the workpiece surface come into alignment with the coating outlet. The invention provides an anti-tailing device coacting with the stream of coating intermediate the outlet and the workpiece surface for substantially preventing tailing of the stream of coating following termination of dispensing thereof.
