Patent number: 8540789Abstract: A filter element comprises a pleated filter (10), one end of which is received in an end cap (11), which is made up of a unitary molding comprising an end part (21) of a harder plastics material, and a lower part (22) of a softer plastics material, the plastics being compatible or of the same composition, differing only in hardness. A groove (24) engages with a support plate (14), the groove being formed in the softer material abutting the harder material so that the latter forms one face of the groove. A perforated support sleeve (29) can be inserted by dropping into the filter, and an end cap (12) at the other end of the filter either closes the end or is adapted for connection to a further similar filter.Type: GrantFiled: August 22, 2008Date of Patent: September 24, 2013Assignee: Madison Filter 981 LimitedInventor: Niels Fischer

Publication number: 20110016837Abstract: A filter element comprises a top frame member, a bottom frame member and a pleated filter assembly received in respective channel sectioned formers comprised by said top and bottom frame members. The formers are integrally bonded with a polyurethane resin core formed in the formers. A mould may include a core member or projections which maintain air passages during moulding, and serve to locate the pleats of the filter element in relation to the air passages.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 22, 2008Publication date: January 27, 2011Applicant: MADISON FILTER 981 LIMITEDInventors: Niels Fischer, Heiko Brinkmann

Publication number: 20100297386Abstract: A clipper seam for joining the ends of a belt, are connected by interdigitated staples which are looped about a pintle and provide barbs on their remote ends to penetrate into the material of the belt. Each end is covered by an edge strip of vinyl by radio frequency welding, and a flap is attached to one end on the low pressure side of the belt by a portion, and folded over to cover the seam on the low pressure side by means of a flap which extends beyond the seam area of the other end. A central area to each side of the seam is impregnated with polyurethane to resist abrasion which tends to concentrate in this area.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 13, 2009Publication date: November 25, 2010Applicant: MADISON FILTER 981 LIMITEDInventor: Mark Stephen Coghlan

Publication number: 20090145094Abstract: A fluidised bed filter comprises a drying pan, and a filter assembly having a membrane over the pan, and a plurality of openings in the membrane. A filter bag is secured to each aperture by means of a clamping ring attached to the rim of the respective aperture, and cooperating with a clamping band within the cuff of the bag. The material of the bag is clamped between the ring and the band. The ring is covered in a cloth strip, which is folded over to produce a flap, which is stitched between the layers of a double fabric forming the membrane. The band is retained in a tunnel formed by a fold in a double fabric forming the filter bag by stitching.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 10, 2006Publication date: June 11, 2009Applicant: MADISON FILTER 981 LIMITEDInventors: Joseph Johnson, David Anthony Akerman

Publication number: 20080314012Abstract: A ceramic filter element is formed from a flocculated slurry predominantly containing inorganic fibres, of 100-150 ?m length and 1-5 ?m thickness. The slurry also contains inorganic yarn in lengths of from 10 mm or greater, e.g. 10-150 mm and thickness 0.1-0.5 mm diameter. The slurry is formed in water with colloidal silica and starch added to flocculate the slurry. The flocculated slurry is then injected to a mould comprising an appropriately shaped mesh form, and water removed by vacuum, and the filter thus formed dried in an oven for 8-12 hours at 120° C. The addition of yarns, which may be glass or alumina mono or multifilament yarns, increases the shock resistance of the ceramic filter element produced.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 27, 2006Publication date: December 25, 2008Applicant: MADISON FILTER 981 LIMITEDInventor: Richard Frazer Allen
