Patent number: 6369524Abstract: An addressable lighting device and control system uses a DMX-512 protocol controller or other serial network protocol controller to selectively generate an electronic address for the addressable lighting device on which the device will respond to all future signals from the controller corresponding to that electronic address. The addressable device has a program mode for setting the address and a working mode for receiving control signals on the set address. The addressable device may have the address set and changed remotely using the DMX-512 protocol controller and a remote control to switch modes, thereby avoiding the problems associated with using DIP switches to set device electronic addresses.Type: GrantFiled: December 14, 2000Date of Patent: April 9, 2002Assignee: MAF Technologies Corp.Inventor: Alberto Sid

Patent number: 6359761Abstract: A secondary ground fault protection for a high voltage power supply has a high voltage transformer with a center tapped secondary coil. The primary coil of a monitoring transformer is connected to the secondary coil at the center tap, which is approximately the midpoint of the secondary coil. The power supply load is connected across the end terminals of the secondary coil. The monitoring transformer is connected between the center tap and an earth ground on the primary coil side and between sensing circuitry and a digital ground on the secondary side. The sensing circuitry includes sub-circuits to generate various outputs which indicate the presence of faults, including a floating ground, excessive fault current or an open sensor transformer. The circuit outputs can be combined using a logical OR gate to cause specific actions in response to each detected fault, including terminating the high voltage generation in response to an excessive fault current.Type: GrantFiled: March 22, 2000Date of Patent: March 19, 2002Assignee: MAF Technologies, Corp.Inventor: Alberto Sid

Patent number: 6323605Abstract: A multiple discharge tube lighting system has a plurality of gas discharge tubes positioned behind a translucent panel, within a or tube or in close proximity to each other and each tube is connected through a power supply to a dimming control circuit. The control circuit is used to change the brightness and on/off state of each tube to create the appearance of different colors when the tubes are viewed in combination using dimming and/or interleaving. The control circuit can match dimming curves, and stores, retrieves and sends power information for each tube to create displays which can be identically produced repeatedly.Type: GrantFiled: October 18, 2000Date of Patent: November 27, 2001Assignee: MAF Technologies Corp.Inventors: Kenneth Greenberg, Alberto Sid
