The filling bobbin is embodied to be rotationally positively drivable, with a drive that is designed for at least two impingements upon the filling bobbin, namely for either accelerating or for decelerating the dispensing of filling (weft) thread. The invention further relates to a weaving process in which such a shuttle is used.
