  • Patent number: 4421478
Abstract: A burner for gaseous fuel having an air supply chamber maintained at a predetermined uniform pressure and ports leading to at least three separate chambers in a burner assembly. The first of these ports receives a mixture of fuel and air from the supply chamber and directs the same through a first chamber to burner ports in the assembly. The other two chambers receive secondary air from the air supply chamber and direct it to positions closely adjacent opposite sides of the burner ports. The burner ports are arranged in rows and the first chamber is of tapered section along the rows of burner ports.

  • Patent number: 4387357
Abstract: A magnetic rotary activator has a permanent magnet mounted for rotation about a fixed axis and a core member having an energizing coil with a current reversing mechanism. The core member has at least three poles arranged to be reversed in polarity by reversing current flow through the coil. The poles are arranged to rotate the permanent magnet through a predetermined angle upon reversal of current flow.

  • Patent number: 4315495
Abstract: An oven door has a sleeve removably receiving a hinge element so the door may be released from its hinges for easy oven cleaning. The hinge element is in the form of an elongated and generally tubular structure having a somewhat resilient lever in its hollow interior, the lever being pivoted between its ends to the hinge element. The ends of the lever have projections extending out from a side of the hollow hinge element for resilient engagement with the sleeve to eliminate looseness between the door and hinge element.

  • Patent number: 4307367
Abstract: One reed of a pair of parallel reeds has a rod extending to opposite sides of the pair. A bimetallic snap disc can be heated to snap against one end of the rod and thus flex the reed to engage a contact on that reed with a contact on the other reed and thus close a circuit to be controlled. A resilient latch holds that reed in its flexed position, even after the disc cools and snaps back to its normal configuration, until a second snap disc is heated and pushes the rod and reed back to its open-contact position. A selectively operable switch serves to provide electric current to a selected one of a pair of resistance heaters, one heater being near each of the snap discs.

  • Patent number: 4261327
Abstract: A range has a grate overlying a burner, the grate having radial arms provided with downwardly extending projections near their ends and those projections are releasably held by spring clips mounted in openings in the range top. The spring clips thus hold the grate in place and prevent rattling when the range is used in a trailer or other vehicle.

  • Patent number: 4245615
Abstract: A cooking range has a pair of side panels as its main structural members. A range top, back panel, bottom member and oven frame are all secured to the side panels and a heat insulated oven shell having an open front is supported at its forward end by the oven frame and by spaced brackets engaging the back panel. Heat conductive contact between the oven shell and oven frame, between the oven frame and side panels and between inner and outer walls of the side panels is minimized by forming upstanding pads on one of each of the pairs of members and through which suitable fastening means extend. The pads are of small area and are the only portions of the members that are in direct contact.

  • Patent number: 4195888
Abstract: A mounting socket is installed within a refrigerator which has a thin inner liner wall and an outer cabinet with an insulation space therebetween. The socket is capable of receiving a horizontally extending mounting bracket associated with an internal shelf. The socket has a body with an opened first end, a closed second end and an intermediate section. The intermediate section of the body is positioned within a hole in the inner liner with its second end located within the insulation space. The body has a cavity which is capable of receiving the horizontally extending mounting bracket. The socket has a lip which radially extends from the first end for sealed engagement with a first side of the wall. The socket also includes a plurality of locating dimples which extend radially from the intermediate portion of the body to overlie the other side of the wall to prevent the socket from being withdrawn from the hole.
