Abstract: A firebox for an outdoor cooking system has a gas burner positioned inside the firebox housing. The gas burner has a built-in altitude adjustment mechanism that allows for adjustment of proper air/gas mixture for cooking at different altitudes. An air deflector configured as an enclosing wall encloses the gas burner so as to greatly reduce the flow of unwanted air/wind disruptions to the flame/heat output of the gas burner.
Abstract: A grill box for an outdoor cooking system provides a heat distribution system and a grease extraction system. The grill box has a lower section, and an inner liner seated inside the lower section. The inner liner has an inner floor that defines a domed structure with a highest vertical point, with at least one heat-directing louver provided in the domed structure. An under plate is positioned in the lower section below the inner liner. In addition, the inner floor of the inner liner defines a grease flow channel that is inclined so that a portion of the grease flow channel adjacent the front is at the highest vertical level, and another portion of the grease flow channel adjacent the rear is at the lowest vertical level, so that the grease flows from the front to the rear, and is disposed of through a grease drainage hole adjacent the rear.

Abstract: A venturi tube has a configuration of baffles affixed thereto that serve to greatly reduce the susceptibility of a gas burning appliance to wind gusts. The baffles cooperate to force incoming primary combustion air through a circuitous route before introduction into a flow of gaseous fuel. The circuitous route in combination with the volume of air that is contained within the baffling serves to substantially reduce flame blowout.
