Abstract: A spring member for use in a disc type friction coupling mechanism for urging the movable friction members associated with such devices toward their inoperative retracted positions, the spring member having a planar loop portion and at least one arm portion associated therewith, each of the arm portions being angularly displaced relative to the plane of the loop portion, the loop portion being removably attachable to the actuator assembly such that each spring arm portion respectively engages a friction member on the actuator assembly to urge the friction member engaged therewith toward its inoperative retracted position.
