Patent number: 7513295Abstract: A wear part made in a foundry is provided having a structure reinforced with at least one type of metallic carbide, and/or of metallic nitride, and/or of boride, and/or of metallic oxides, and/or of intermetallic compounds, hereafter called components. The raw materials acting as reagents for the components are put into a mold before casting in the form of inserts or preformed shapes of compacted powders or in the form of barbitones. The reaction of the powders is triggered in situ by the molten metal casting, forming a porous conglomerate in situ. The metal infiltrates the porous conglomerate, thereby making a reinforced structure so as to result in inclusion of the components in the structure of the metal used for the casting, thus creating a reinforcing structure on the wear part.Type: GrantFiled: January 20, 2006Date of Patent: April 7, 2009Assignee: Magotteaux International SAInventors: Claude Poncin, Francesco Vescera

Patent number: 6695237Abstract: The test mill is a reduced-scale model of an industrial mill used in the mining industry and comprising a rotary shell (10) capable of rotating about its longitudinal and horizontal axis. This shell is capable of containing a certain amount of grinding media and of receiving a certain amount of material to be ground so as to be able to operate under conditions comparable with those of an industrial mill. The shell is divided, in the longitudinal direction, by a perforated transverse partition (24), into a grinding chamber (20) and a measurement chamber (22), the perforations in the partition being sized to hold the grinding charge back and allow the ground matter to pass through, whereas the shell (10) comprises a series of injectors (28) allowing fluid products to be injected into the grinding chamber (20). It is possible to make in-situ and continuous analyses of the pulp in the measurement chamber.Type: GrantFiled: January 8, 2002Date of Patent: February 24, 2004Assignee: Magotteaux InternationalInventor: Philippe Steinier
