  • Patent number: 9429387
Abstract: This disclosure describes systems, methods, and apparatus for a selectable barrel support that can be inserted into a forend of a firearm stock to support a first barrel type and flipped, rotated, or otherwise moved to support a second barrel type (or third or fourth barrel types). A tensioning mechanism is provided. Bull and tapered barrels are examples of two barrel types that the selectable barrel support can be used to support. The selectable barrel support enables a firearm owner or gunsmith to exchange barrel types on a firearm without having to switch out the firearm stock.

  • Patent number: 9404708
Abstract: A stock for a firearm is disclosed. The stock has a length of pull (LOP) adjustment mechanism. The LOP adjustment mechanism is biased towards an engaged configuration and is movable to a disengaged configuration. A locating member protrudes into a stock mounting space and a first arm is in an engagement position when the LOP adjustment mechanism is in the engaged configuration. The locating member is translated such that the locating member does not protrude into the mounting space and the first arm is pivoted into a disengagement position when the LOP adjustment mechanism is in the disengaged configuration.

  • Patent number: 9389036
Abstract: The present disclosure provides a method of creating a visible indicator upon a firearm magazine. The method may comprise fabricating a plurality of rectangular matrices of divots on an exterior surface of the magazine, the divots having concave surfaces, each matrix comprising a plurality of rows of divots and a plurality of columns of divots. A first divot of a first row is also a first divot of a first column, the first divot forming a substantially straight line with each other divot of the first column, and a first divot of a second row is also a second divot of the first column. The method may then comprise marking, with paint or ink, at least one of the divots.

  • Patent number: 9383152
Abstract: A system and method for using a firearm magazine are described. One embodiment includes a firearm magazine assembly. The assembly has a polymer housing and a follower assembly comprising a follower, a spring, and an insert. The assembly also has a floorplate removably engaged with the proximal end of the housing and the insert. The follower assembly comprises a compressed configuration and an extended configuration relative to the housing, a compression limiter, and an extension limiter. The compression limiter prevents the spring from over-compression, and the extension limiter prevents the spring from forcing the follower against the feed lips.

  • Patent number: 9347720
Abstract: A new interface for a magazine follower and floor plate is used to provide greater stability to the round stack and a more sturdy system overall. The floor plate is designed with two opposite legs, the rear being shorter than the front leg so as to facilitate travel throughout the magazine and clearing of accumulated dirt and debris. The floor plate, in one embodiment, utilizes a lock plate that is shaped and sized to become a shoe for the compressed spring and associated follower. In an alternate embodiment, the floor plate itself serves the purpose and, with provided teeth, directly fastens to the magazine casing at notches manufactured in the magazine wall for that purpose. Other enhancements to the magazine include at least one matrix of divots to provide a paint surface, an over-insertion stop and a lower rear geometry to aid in clearing debris and grit.

  • Patent number: 9239209
Abstract: An improved firearm accessory mounting interface is herein disclosed. The interface can include one or more sets of first and second fasteners that interface through an elongated slot in a firearm in order to mount a firearm accessory to a firearm. The second fastener can be shaped and sized to clear the elongated slot and can, upon clearing the elongated slot, be pivoted to an oblique orientation relative to the elongated slot so that the second fastener cannot be retracted. The first fastener can continue to be turned thus drawing the first and second fasteners toward each other and locking the accessory to the firearm.

  • Publication number: 20130305582
Abstract: The present invention is a quick detach swivel utilizing pawls to engage a ridge or trench in a socket. The pawls are biased outward by the spurs of two sliding buttons which cam the pawls in an upright and outward orientation. When the buttons are squeezed together, the cam lock is released and the pawls fall into the swivel frame, releasing the swivel body. When pressure on the buttons is released, the buttons return to their normal positions and catch the pawls, returning them to their upright and engaged position.
