  • Patent number: 11649921
Abstract: A mounting pad system for securing equipment, such as an HVAC outdoor unit or a standby generator, is provided in the form of a lightweight fillable pad member having a plurality of receivers located on a top surface of the pad member. The receivers are associated with attachment points located on the equipment and are used to secure the equipment to the pad. The pad member contains a filling port on its top surface and is configured as a molded hollow shell containing a gelling material which, when mixed with water, provides support to reduce deflection of the pad member caused by the equipment secured to the pad, prevents damage to the pad that would otherwise be caused by the expansion of internal contents upon freezing and prevents leakage of internal contents of the fillable pad in the event of an unintended breach in the hollow shell. The pad member is provided with at least one through-hole that acts as a supporting structure.

  • Patent number: 11623866
Abstract: A method encapsulates nanoscale material by producing a suspension of the nanostructure material in a first solvent using a micelle surrounding the nanostructure material. The micelle surrounding the suspended nanostructure material is swollen by adding to and mixing with the suspension an immiscible phase second solvent containing a precursor. The precursor is then reduced by adding a reducing reactant selectively soluble in the first solvent that reacts to the precursor containing reactant selectively solvated in the second solvent to encapsulate the nanostructure material. A metal-nanostructure composite can be provided by collecting and mixing the metal-shell encapsulated nanostructure product produced by the aforementioned method into a metal matrix.

  • Patent number: 11607070
Abstract: A lightweight portable heating device consisting of a container assembly and lid assembly that house a tub assembly for the purpose of heating liquids and food submerged in aforementioned liquids by means of a multi-fuel burner. Container assembly provides for several structures that improve ergonomics and handling of the lightweight portable heating device. For instance, container assembly includes an integrated handle that surrounds the container assembly proximate the top portion of the container assembly and is molded into the container assembly. Integrated handle allows for the ease of moving of the lightweight portable heating device by personnel. Proximate the bottom of container assembly are lifting handles that enable the lifting of the device above shoulder level while also functioning as a tie down point.

  • Patent number: 11524090
Abstract: A process for using photocatalytic load reduction to extend reactive media filtration life is disclosed for an air purification system. The system consists of three methods of cleaning the air including a UV light, a photocatalyst, and an air purifier. Air first passes through a portion with the UV light and photocatalyst, and then through the purifier. Passing the air first through the UV light and photo catalyst before the purifier reduces the load on the purifier and thus allowing the purifier to operate and clean the air for an extended period of time as compared to the purifier alone.

  • Patent number: 11519633
Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to implementation of an environmental control unit using rotomolded techniques to fabricate the structures of the unit instead of the standard conventional sheet metal, extruded, forged, and punched parts. Such implementations will provide a lighter weight and more durable mechanical configuration that will also simplify inspection, simplify assembly/disassembly, and reduce fabrication costs. Implementations incorporate rotationally-molded interlocking structures to contain and attach the critical items of the ECU's mechanical components including the compressor, and the indoor and outdoor coils, as well as the fan and blower motor assembly. In one implementation, the rotomolded structure is strengthened and insulated (thermally and acoustically) by filling the interior void of the rotationally molded structure with a closed-cell foam.

  • Patent number: 11473846
Abstract: A window assembly heat transfer system is disclosed in which a window member has a selected transparency to monitored or sensed electromagnetic wavelengths. One or more passages are provided in the window member for flowing a single-phase or two-phase heat transfer fluid. A mechanism allows either evaporation or condensation of the fluid and/or balancing of a flow of the fluid within the passages. In one embodiment, the window assembly can be made by producing passages in a top surface of a first single plate, optionally producing passages in a bottom surface of a second single plate and bonding the top surface of the first plate to a bottom surface of a second single plate to form the window member with the passage or passages. In another embodiment, the window assembly can be made by providing a core around which the window member material is grown and thereafter removing the core to produce the passage or passages.

  • Patent number: 11362262
Abstract: A mounting pad system and method for an HVAC outdoor unit that includes providing a lightweight fillable pad shell containing a gelling material and having securing slots extending from an underside surface to an upperside surface of the shell. The shell is filled with water through a port at its upper surface. Prior to leveling the filled pad on the soil at the site and installation of the outdoor unit, securing straps are inserted into the slots from the underside surface of the shell so as to extend through an upper surface thereof. The filling port is covered when the HVAC unit is placed on top of the pad. One or more securing anchors can be used to anchor the pad to the ground, which are also covered when the HVAC unit is place on top of the pad and an anti-theft cable can be employed to further prevent theft.

  • Patent number: 11333445
Abstract: A radiator system uses an innovative passive control scheme in combination with dependable mechanical design features to meet or exceed the requirements for orbital applications. The disclosed radiator system is unique because we target an extremely high turndown ratio of 200:1 with an entirely passive two-phase pumped loop using ammonia as the working fluid. Sections of the radiator will selectively freeze to assist the turndown, and the mechanical design of the radiator can handle the high pressures experienced during such freezing and thawing events.
