  • Patent number: 9276435
Abstract: Method and apparatus for a receiving device to wirelessly receive electric power from a transmitting device. A power capacity is configured at the receiving device, based on a default power capacity known by both the receiving device and the transmitting device. A first value of a dependent parameter is read. The dependent parameter is associated with the electric power and varies in accordance with an independent parameter adjustable by the transmitting device. A second value of the dependent parameter is then read. A maximum power capacity of the transmitting device is identified based on at least the first and second values and a predetermined threshold. The electric power is then received from the transmitting device.

  • Patent number: 8621258
Abstract: Embodiments in accordance with the present invention provide devices and methods for operating two memory cards. In one embodiment, an electronic device includes a host controller, a first socket in communication with the host controller, for receiving a first memory card and a second socket, and a second socket in communication with the host controller, for receiving a second memory card. The physical pin arrangement of the second socket is in an order reversed from the physical pin arrangement of the first socket. The host controller transmits power to the first memory card and cuts off power to the second memory card during a first time period, and cuts off power to the first memory card and transmits power to the second memory card during a second time period. The first socket and the second socket transmit and receive same set of data signals.

  • Patent number: 8527667
Abstract: An apparatus includes a socket, a computer-readable medium, and a controller. The socket is capable of interfacing with different types of storage medium. The computer-readable medium is operable for storing a computer-executable universal driver associated with a first operation mode and compatible with each of the types of storage medium, and for storing a computer-executable dedicated driver associated with a second operation mode and compatible with only a subset of the types of storage medium. The controller is operable for selecting a selected driver from the universal driver and the dedicated driver if a storage medium is inserted into the socket and for operating in a corresponding operation mode to exchange data information with the storage medium according to the selected driver. The selected driver includes the dedicated driver if the storage medium is a member of the subset and otherwise the selected driver includes the universal driver.
