Abstract: A portable power generating apparatus (210), including an array (228) of solar panels (220 to 227) which are configured to adopt a stowed position (FIG. 17), and, an operative position (FIG. 21). The apparatus (210) includes a main structure (212), and a plurality of solar panels (220 to 227). In the stowed position (FIG. 17), the solar panels (220 to 227) are compactly stored and are substantially located within an extremity (215) of abase (214) of the apparatus (210). In the operative position (FIG. 21), the panels (220 to 227) are arranged in the form of an array (228) of substantially upwardly facing panels. The solar panels (220 to 227) are attached the main structure (212) of the apparatus (210) to frames via sliding track mechanisms (260) and/or hinge mechanisms (262) for movement of the panels (220 to 227) between the stowed (FIG. 17) and operative position (FIG. 21).

Abstract: The present inventions provides a lifting device 101 comprising a main body 105 being of a generally elongate form, said main body 105 having at one end thereof a transport means 102, 120 to allow said device to translate relative to the ground, a boom portion 103 cooperating with said main body 105 and adapted to support a load at its end, a motive power means 115 to lift or lower said load, said main body 105 being able to be pivoted by a user with respect to a fulcrum 102, 120 formed by either said transport means 102, 120 and a ground location or said transport means 102, 120, around an axis generally parallel to the ground, to transfer or arcuately move a load carried by said boom portion 103, thereby providing a functionally variable horizontal reach 1013 to said device 101.

Abstract: The present invention also provides a liquid reservoir assembly 10 of the type that can store and release a fluid under pressure, the assembly 10 having an outer body formed of an open ended tube 20 which is closed by end formations 70, 80 which engage respective ends of the open ended tube 20 and are held stationary with respect to the open ended tube 20, the end formations 70,80 holding between them an elongated elastic inner tube 30 sealing secured to the end formations, the elastic inner tube 30 being axially pre-tensioned or stretched from its natural or rest state, and secured to the ends in the pre-tensioned or stretched condition.
