  • Patent number: 9076332
Abstract: A multiobjective management system for saturated traffic road networks comprising: green wave coordination of locally adaptive traffic control units, traffic movement optimization and live traffic route guidance. Current traffic congestion measurements on intersections are generated from local traffic cameras and remote air-borne conventional cameras and thermal sensing imaging cameras or satellite radar such as SAR/ISAR using optical image brightness analysis. At the first stage of traffic optimization, individual local intersection green times are computed based on current traffic congestion level. At the second stage optimization, the central traffic server uses a multiobjective approach to coordinate the current locally-optimized green times of the first stage and create input constraints for green-way coordination of plurality of traffic lights.

  • Publication number: 20140018902
Abstract: An individually tailored endovascular stent graft device and procedure is for performing a no-cut repair of different aneurysm types: ascending, descending, arch, abdominal and cerebral aneurysms. Many aneurysm types can thus be treated without the need for open heart surgery. The stent may be biomaterial based (collagen-based in the preferred embodiment). No shape-memory metals need be used therefore allowing better implantation flexibility and better patient recovery. The stent may be fixated in the designated treatment area by remotely activating individually capsulated bicomponent biological glue by UV light/ultrasound means, wherein each component of the glue is coated separately. Further presented is a method for calculating stent graft implantation path by determining the sequence of implantation points through computer simulation means, wherein the implantation is done by discrete pulses.

  • Patent number: 7379890
Abstract: A computer-based method and system accomplish automatic optimization of a preferred merchandising figure of merit like revenue, profit, etc. by concurrent optimization of prices and in-store promotion schedules for groups of interrelated products in a supermarket or in a chain of supermarkets. The basis of the system is a statistical model that combines effects of prices, promotion schedules and other factors that could influence demands, and produces a flexible nonparametric predictive demand function that can be optimized simultaneously in prices and promotion schedules. The system generates demand predictions for groups of interrelated products by applying data mining procedures to historical database that contains sales data along with various sales conditions, adjusting statistical predictive demand models, and then optimizing them in prices and promotion schedules.
