Abstract: Methods, devices, and systems for the transmission of information in a wireless communication system are disclosed. In one embodiment, a method for the transmission of information in a wireless communication system comprises receiving a downlink message, wherein the downlink message includes a first control channel element; determining a first index using the location of the first control channel element; determining a second index; determining a first orthogonal resource using the first index; determining a second orthogonal resource using the second index; spreading an uplink message using the first orthogonal resource to form a first spread signal; spreading the uplink message using a second orthogonal resource to form a second spread signal; transmitting the first spread signal using a first antenna; and transmitting the second spread signal using a second antenna.

Abstract: A method of processing data for a driving automation system, the method comprising steps of: obtaining image data from a camera of an autonomous vehicle, AV; image processing the image data to obtain a vehicle registration mark, VRM, of another vehicle within the surrounding area of the AV; looking up the VRM in a vehicle information database to obtain information indicative of the make, the model and the date of manufacture of the other vehicle; looking up information indicative of the make, the model and the date of manufacture of the other vehicle in a vehicle dimensions database to obtain at least one dimension of the other vehicle; and updating a context of the autonomous vehicle based on said at least one dimension of the other vehicle.

Abstract: A method and a wireless device for exchanging messages with an access point (AP) while the wireless device is in a pre-associated state during which the wireless device is unauthenticated and is not associated with a network. The wireless device receives a beacon from the AP indicating that the AP will protect messages communicated with the wireless device. The wireless device then sends to the AP a message including a request for information from the AP. The wireless device obtains a public key of the AP, and receives an encrypted response to the request and an encrypted symmetric key. The wireless device decrypts the encrypted symmetric key using the public key of the AP to recover a symmetric key that is not encrypted, and decrypts the encrypted response to the request using the decrypted symmetric key to recover a response to the request that is not encrypted.

Abstract: A method and mobile transceiver with adaptive monitoring are provided. In accordance with one embodiment, there is provided a method of operating a mobile transceiver, comprising: waking up the mobile transceiver from a low power mode in response to a wakeup event; determining a waypoint in a travel itinerary corresponding to the wakeup event, the travel itinerary defining a number of waypoints including an origin endpoint and destination endpoint; and setting one or more subsequent wakeup events based one or a combination of a time of the wakeup event, sensor data at the time of the wakeup event, and the determined waypoint.

Abstract: A communications system is to communicate with an application server storing a plurality of applications. The communications system includes a mobile wireless communications device configured to store at least one application from among the plurality of applications, the at least one application having stored version information associated therewith. An intermediate server is configured to update the mobile wireless communications device by at least obtaining respective current version information for associated current versions of the plurality of applications and obtaining the stored application version information from the mobile wireless communications device for the at least one stored application. The stored application version information is compared with the current version information for the at least one stored application.

Abstract: An access point advertises a management frame quality of service (MFQ) policy that defines an access category used for transmitting a first type of management frame. Each mobile station associated with the access point is to prioritize transmission of management frames according to the MFQ policy advertised by the access point, unless a policy configuration request for the mobile station to prioritize transmission of management frames according to a different MFQ policy has been accepted.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a scheme is disclosed for supporting wireless access network service request capability in a user equipment (UE) device that is operable in wide area cellular network (WACN) bands as well as in wireless access network bands (e.g., GAN bands and/or UMA bands). The UE device includes capability for gaining Internet Protocol (IP) connectivity with a wireless access network node (e.g., a GAN controller (GANC) or UMA network controller (UNC)). Thereafter, the UE device is operable to initiate a registration request message towards the wireless access network node, wherein the registration request message includes at least one information element pertaining to wireless access network services required by the UE device.

Abstract: A method is presented for secure communication, the method including generating a signature using a private key, a nonce, and at least one of an identifier and a key component; and transmitting the signature, the nonce, a security parameter, and the at least one of the identifier and the key component, wherein the security parameter associates a user identity with a public key, the public key being associated with the private key.

Abstract: A device, serving cell and method of switching between modes of operation for the device in a cellular network comprises receiving a service via a connection with the serving cell. A condition indicative of deterioration in network service and an absence of a suitable neighbor cell are detected. In response, discovery of relay nodes is initiated. When a suitable relay node is discovered, a mechanism to switch to receiving the service via the suitable relay node is initiated. The service may be a mission critical push-to-talk over Long Term Evolution service. The relay node may be user equipment acting as a user equipment-to-network relay node. When the device is in an RCC_CONNECTED state, the mechanism to switch includes sending a relay mode preference indication to the serving cell, receiving a connection release message from the serving cell, releasing the serving cell connection, and establishing a sidelink connection with the relay.

Abstract: In some examples, a wireless device includes a communication interface to communicate with a wireless network, and at least one processor configured to, receive, from an access point (AP), information including a network address policy of the wireless network. The at least one processor is configured to further, in response to the information including the network address policy, use an address of the wireless device according to the network address policy.

Abstract: An electronic payment system is for a merchant server to transfer funds from a purchaser account to a merchant account, the merchant server to send a merchant transaction identification (ID) and transaction information. The electronic payment system includes a mobile wireless communications device to send a purchaser transaction ID and purchaser account access information. A payment processor server is to receive the purchaser transaction ID and purchaser account access information, and is also to send the transaction information to the mobile wireless communications device if the merchant transaction ID matches the purchaser transaction ID. The mobile wireless communications device is also to send confirmation of the transaction information to the payment processor server. The payment processor server is also to effect a transfer of funds from the purchaser account to the merchant account based upon the confirmation of the transaction information and the purchaser account access information.

Abstract: Systems and methods to configure sidelink resources in a dual connectivity operation are provided. In some aspect, a method comprising: transmitting, from a user equipment (UE), a first message to a first evolved Node B (eNB), wherein the first message indicates a request to establish a sidelink communication; receiving, at the UE, a second message from the first eNB, wherein the second message indicates a frequency that is used by a secondary evolved Node B (SeNB); transmitting, from the UE, a measurement result to the first eNB; and receiving, at the UE, sidelink configuration information from the first eNB, wherein the sidelink configuration information indicates sidelink resources managed by the secondary eNB.

Abstract: Methods and devices for encoding a point cloud. A current node associated with a sub-volume is split into further sub-volumes, each further sub-volume corresponding to a child node of the current node, and, at the encoder, an occupancy pattern is determined for the current node based on occupancy status of the child nodes. A probability distribution is selected from among a plurality of probability distributions based on occupancy data for a plurality of nodes neighbouring the current node. The encoder entropy encodes the occupancy pattern based on the selected probability distribution to produce encoded data for the bitstream and updates the selected probability distribution. The decoder makes the same selection based on occupancy data for neighbouring nodes and entropy decodes the bitstream to reconstruct the occupancy pattern.

Abstract: In some examples, an electronic device receives configuration information relating to network connectivity with a network of a vehicle, the configuration information including a credential. Abstract: In a handheld communication device capable of a plurality of wireless communication modes, a method of communication begins by receiving, at the handheld communication device, a notification of an available one of the wireless communication modes. Then, in a data communication window of the communication device, a user-indication of an active one of the available wireless communication modes is provided in accordance with the received communication mode indication. The data communication window is configured to facilitate data communication via the plurality of wireless communication modes, and facilitates the data communication via the active wireless communication mode.

Abstract: A communication system and method for supporting a plurality of vehicle-to-everything radio access technologies (V2X RATs) is provided. The communication system configured to support multiple V2X RATs transmits, using a first V2X RAT, an indication of its availability to support an interworking function between the plurality of V2X RATs. The communication system receives an instruction to provide the interworking function between different V2X RATs. The interworking function may be incorporated in a vehicle that is joined to a platoon configured to use a first V2X RAT, and provide the interworking function between the first and a second V2X RAT. The interworking function may be used to add further vehicles to the platoon that communicate using only the second V2X RAT.

Abstract: A user equipment detects that an aggregate of calculated uplink transmit power of the UE exceeds a threshold. In response to the detecting, a power of at least one of a plurality of frequency-division multiplexing (FDM)-based uplink transmissions of the UE over corresponding wireless connections with respective wireless access network nodes is adjusted.

Abstract: A method of composing an email message at an electronic device and an electronic device operable to carry out the method are provided. The method includes receiving an email command from a user input of the electronic device through a calendar user interface, the email command relating to at least one of a plurality of intended attendees of a calendared meeting, and providing an email composition interface in response to receiving the email command. The email composition interface includes a user-editable portion of an address field. The user-editable portion of the address field is automatically populated with email address information for the at least one of the plurality of intended attendees.
