  • Patent number: 5829422
Abstract: A magneto ignition system for applications which require long burn times (usually measured in milliseconds), high spark energy to ignite the air/fuel mixtures used in racing applications and light weight. Such applications can use air fuel rations as low as 2:1. The magneto assembly includes a one-piece shaft having a polygonal center section with sides defining a plurality of magnet receiving surfaces. Each surface is fixedly provided with a magnet, preferably a rare earth magnet, with adjacent ones of the magnets being arranged to have alternating outwardly facing poles. A magneto housing contains an array of stator windings that surround the plurality of magnets. The housing also includes opposed apertures with bearings for receiving opposed ends of the shaft. A non-conductive retainer housing surrounds the plurality of magnets and is affixed to the shaft to counteract centrifugal forces acting on the magnets, thus retaining the magnets on the shaft.

  • Patent number: 5186147
Abstract: A fuel regulator for controlling one or more carburetors and having a return to the fuel tank arrangement. The invention comprises a unique arrangement of an hourglass shaped plunger that permits virtually unrestircted flow through the body of the regulator from the inlet to the one or more ports which lead to the single or multiple carburetors. A method of operation wherein the return fuel flow is never completely shut off is provided during normal operation. This provides the advantages of reduced demands on the manufacture of the return line seat, and always permits at least some flow through the return line during the normal operation. Thus, a highly efficient, high volume, low pressure regulator for carburetted, high performance engines is provided.

  • Patent number: 5123436
Abstract: An improved pressure regulator for use in racing and other high demand environments for use with a high pressure, high output pump. The sealing plunger is designed to make a hard surface seal and also carries an "O"-ring to form a secondary seal. The primary function of the "O"-ring however, is to create a venturi in the normal ranges of operation to thus create a cushion area which prevents chattering, hydraulic hammering, pulsations, and the like in the fuel flow through the regulator.

  • Patent number: 5111793
Abstract: An improved pressure regulator for use with automotive engine fuel pumps wherein the ball is constrained for motion in a cage within the inlet chamber. The cage is made up of three simple cylindrical pins press fitted into an end cap. The inlet chamber is oversized with respect to the maximum dimensions of the caged ball array. In this manner, upon opening of the ball off of its seat, virtually no impediment to full flow of the maximum fuel pump capacity through the regulator is achieved.

  • Patent number: 5007806
Abstract: An add-on electric fuel pump having numerous advantageous features including an improved manner of replacing the seal at the shaft on the electric motor side of the pump, a versatile mounting bracket, and a fuel reservoir member having a plurality of chambers which permit internal bypassing of the fuel, thus avoiding a return line to the fuel tank. The fuel reservoir member is formed with a set of fuel chambers which cooperate with the pump to permit internal turbulent bypassing of the fuel, thus improving cooling and avoiding vapor lock.
