Abstract: Provided is a crane with a main boom and a back mast, of which at least one comprises a first mast upper part comprising at least one mast section and a first mast lower part comprising at least one mast section, and a first mast tilting. The first mast tilting member is arranged between the first mast upper part and the first mast lower part, and has a straight hoisting state wherein the first mast upper part and the first mast lower part are essentially in line with each other, and a tilted hoisting state wherein the first mast upper part is tilted with respect to the first mast lower part.

Abstract: A crane, a method for assembly of a crane and a method for disassembly of a crane are disclosed. In accordance with the method, a first mast is fixed in a vertical position. A top mast section of a second mast is positioned adjacent to and outside of the first mast. The top mast section is moved vertically upwards, and this movement is guided by a guide system. Then, the top mast section is fixed relative to the first mast at a position which is at a larger vertical distance from the crane base. Then, a first intermediate mast section of the second mast is fixed to a lower end of the top mast section to build up the second mast. Then, the first intermediate mast section is connected to a pivot, and the second mast is pivoted away from the first mast.

Abstract: A method for assembling a crane that comprises erecting an upright ballast mast with a back mast top slide that is movable along the ballast mast and constructing a back mast using the upright ballast mast. This comprises the steps of providing a back mast upper section, multiple back mast intermediate sections, and a back mast lower section. The method also comprises connecting a part of the back mast including at least the back mast upper section, and possibly further including one or more pre-connected intermediate sections, to the back mast top slide. The part of the back mast that has been connected to the back mast top slide is stepwise extended by attaching further back mast intermediate sections and the back mast lower section. During the extension of the back mast the back mast top slide is stepwise raised along the upright ballast mast.
