  • Patent number: 5813070
Abstract: A bridge section made of light metal including a vertical web, an upper chord section connected to an upper end of the vertical web and a lower chord section connected to a lower end of the vertical web. The upper chord includes a thick-walled horizontal part with a weld seam connection and a thin-walled flange. The thin-walled flange has a wall thickness which is less than the thick-walled horizontal part. The vertical web has a wall thickness which is greater than the thin-walled horizontal part and the lower chord has a wall thickness which is greater than the thin-walled horizontal part. A residual wall is formed by machining the lower chord section and the vertical web over a length area. The residual wall has a residual wall thickness with two planes arranged at right angles to one another over the length area. A T-shaped insert is provided including two legs. A connection device is provided for connecting the two legs of the T-shaped insert to the residual wall portions.

  • Patent number: 5787792
Abstract: A hydraulically actuated locking element with two locking bolts axially displaceable on an axis. A carrying structure is provided with two, slidingly guided hydraulic cylinders, two cylinder bottoms, which act as locking bolts and are designed as force-transmitting cylinder bottom. A centrally fastened, common piston rod of the hydraulic cylinders is provided with a stationary piston at each piston rod end. A centrally rigidly connected piston rod fastening is arranged in the carrying structure and between the two, sliding hydraulic cylinders. The piston rod fastening and the piston rod are provided with holes for guiding hydraulic oil.

  • Patent number: 5763788
Abstract: A device for counting and classifying load cycles in supporting structures with various loads, bridges, cranes, or tracks for example. A measuring instrument (2) is attached to an attachment side (7) of a load-cycle counter (1) and accommodates a mechanical strain amplifier (3). The ends (8 & 8') of the strain amplifier are much thicker and more resistant to strain. Its middle (9), which includes a strain gauge 10, is much thinner and more sensitive to strain. The ends are fastened to the attachment side. Any signal deriving from traction, force, or flection, and emitted by the strain amplifier (3) is forwarded through a digitalizer (4). The data are processed and stored in a signal processor (5).

  • Patent number: 5299223
Abstract: A ring resonator comprised of four mirrors arranged at an angle of 45.degree. relative to the pump laser is suggested for an optically pumped far infrared laser. The mirrors are arranged in pairs which are positioned in evacuated chambers of the laser housing together with the ends of two waveguides. The pump laser is introduced into the resonator via a bore in one of the mirrors. The ring resonator provides for a completely wavelength-independent insulation between the pump laser and the ring laser. The system also provides for a minimal power loss of the FIR laser beam.

  • Patent number: 5140814
Abstract: An exhaust gas system with a particulate filter and a regenerating burner, whose hot gas outlet is provided in the vicinity of a closed end of the filter in the form of a plurality of openings, which are arranged in one or more planes parallel to the entry surface of the particulate filter. Due to the splitting up of the hot gas flow in the burner into a plurality of smaller flows of hot gas, the mixing with the exhaust gas is so improved that directly downstream from the flame tube of the burner there is a substantially complete equalization of temperature whereby the particulate filter may be positioned very close to the burner.
