The cutting board includes a planar body defining a top surface, a parallel bottom surface and a uniform width peripheral side. The cutting board also includes a removable resilient band that is configured to engage the periphery of the body. The removable band has a width complementary to the width of the body and defines footings that each has a width greater than the width of the body. The periphery of the body may have a continuous groove and the removable band may have a continuous tongue that fits the groove.
