  • Patent number: 6571895
Abstract: Electrical machine having an electrical component, which has a rotor component and a stator component and is arranged inside a housing. The housing has a first housing wall which surrounds the electrical component in the circumferential direction, with the housing having an accommodation space which extends radially outward from the first housing wall from the electrical component with respect to the rotation axis of the rotor component. The individual components of the power electronics for controlling the electrical machine are arranged inside the accommodation space.

  • Patent number: 6528918
Abstract: A drive system includes an electric machine with a rotor arrangement which is connectable to a drive shaft for joint rotation therewith and a stator arrangement. The drive system further includes a coupling device such as a hydrodynamic coupling device with an inlet region that is connectable to the drive shaft for joint rotation therewith. A coupling element that is connectable to the drive shaft supports a rotor interaction region of the rotor arrangement is connectable to the inlet region of the coupling device for joint rotation.

  • Patent number: 6494441
Abstract: A self-pumping hydropneumatic spring strut with internal leveling for motor vehicles includes a working cylinder filled with damping medium. The working cylinder is under the pressure of at least one gas cushion arranged in a high-pressure chamber and acting as a spring. A piston divides the working cylinder into two working spaces and is connected to a hollow piston rod. Valves are arranged on the piston so that the two working spaces are in communiction through the valves. A piston pump is driven by the spring movements and pumps oil out of a low-pressure chamber into the working space connected to the high-pressure chamber and comprises a pump space formed by the hollow piston rod, a pump rod connected to the working cylinder. A further pressure generator acts upon the damping medium in the high-pressure chamber and/or the working space connected to the high-pressure space.

  • Patent number: 6253661
Abstract: A sheet-metal piston rod guide for a piston-cylinder unit in which a piston rod is axially movable, includes a slide bush which is centered by a guide sleeve which adjoins a closure ring which delimits the working chamber and in turn merges into an axial casing. The axial casing centers the entire piston rod guide. A piston rod seal surrounds the piston rod and seals the working chamber. The guide sleeve is supported in the axial and radial directions against a bearing ring which bears the piston rod seal and extends in the radial direction. The bearing ring has a radial support surface with respect to the casing so that the casing, the closure ring, the guide sleeve, and the bearing ring form a force bearing arrangement which is closed with regard to the bearing of forces.

  • Patent number: 6079440
Abstract: A reversing valve having a valve body which separates two working spaces which are filled with a fluid. Passage openings are arranged in the valve body and are covered at least partially by a number of valve plates. The cross sectional passage of the passage openings is controlled by a reversing plate as a function of the direction of flow. The reversing plate has spring sections which extend in the circumferential direction and at least one cover surface. The at least one cover surface is aligned with at least one passage opening. The spring sections of the reversing plate are supported on a securing plate.

  • Patent number: 6041276
Abstract: A device for controlling a starting procedure of a motor vehicle for initiating a movement of the motor vehicle includes a controller which receives as input, signals generated by an engine shaft speed sensor, a driving speed sensor, a transmission shaft speed sensor, a transmission output shaft speed sensor, and an accelerator pedal position sensor. The controller is operatively connected to the engine for increasing the engine speed above a minimum threshold value when the driver signals his desire for a racing start. The controller is also operatively connected to a clutch activation device for deliberately producing a slip of the driving wheels and for controlling the slip of the driving wheels by controlling a slip of the clutch after a starting time point signaled by the driver.

  • Patent number: 5984072
Abstract: An adjusting device for operating a friction clutch is brought into active connection with the friction clutch via an output device driven by a drive. The output device includes a compensation device that compensates for a wear-induced position change of the pressure spring of the friction clutch by permitting a length change of the output device. For this purpose, the compensation device includes a fixing device that secures the relative positions of the components of the output device to each other. The fixing device is releasable in a predetermined operating state of the adjusting device by a control element. When released, the fixing device allows the relative movement between the components of the output device required to implement the length change of the output device.

  • Patent number: 5967899
Abstract: A centrifugal mass device having at least two centrifugal masses which are rotatable relative to each other against the effect of elastic elements of a torsional damping device. The output-side centrifugal mass, which is more distant from a drive, e.g., the crankshaft of an internal combustion engine, is run radially as well as axially relative to the drive-side centrifugal mass via a support. The support has an axial slide bearing that borders a grease chamber containing a viscous medium, which grease chamber accommodates, at least partially, the torsional damping device. To form a seal for the grease chamber, the axial slide bearing is radially encompassed along at least a portion of its axial extension by at least one axial projection provided on at least one of the centrifugal masses, whereby the axial projection is close to but separated by a gap from an associated region of the other centrifugal mass.
