Abstract: A method for bonding together premolded skins of elastomeric material including the steps of providing at least a first and second premolded elastomeric skin. Providing a mold with first and second mold parts and positioning the first premolded elastomeric skin in the first part of the mold. The method also includes positioning fill material atop the first premolded elastomeric skin in the first part of the mold, then applying a layer of elastomer at points of connection of the first elastomeric skin to the second elastomeric skin. The method also includes pressing the first and second mold parts into connection, thereby binding the elastomeric skins. A mounting member is positioned on at least one premolded skin of elastomeric material. The method also includes the step of providing a reinforcement member positioned around the mounting member formed in at least one premolded skin of elastomeric material.

Abstract: An assembly and attachment of cushions wherein premolded skins of elastomeric materials are bonded together. In a first embodiment, a thin layer of elastomer is added at the points of connection of the elastomeric skins. In a second embodiment, the cushion formed by the attachment of two elastomeric skins is mounted to a receiving surface by a layer of elastomer formed between one elastomeric skin and a receiving indentation integrally formed in the skin. A third embodiment reinforces the mounting arrangement of the second embodiment by positioning an O-ring around the indentation. A fourth embodiment uses a layer of elastomer formed between one elastomeric skin and the receiving indentation and the O-ring reinforces the mounting arrangement. A method for bonding together premolded skins of elastomeric material is also disclosed.

Abstract: A cushion (10) for attachment to an edge (14, 16) of a work surface (12) supports the forearms or wrists of a person working at the work surface. The cushion includes an elongate cushioning foam member that has a notch defined by a generally rectangular first mating surface (18) and a generally rectangular second mating surface (24) for attaching the cushion to the surface of the workstation. The first mating surface and the second mating surface intersect such that they are substantially normal to each other. A first padding portion (32) overlies the first mating, surface. The first padding portion has a thickness that is maximized near a point (A) that is coplanar with the second mating surface and that tapers to a minimized thickness at an outer edge (22) of the first mating surface. A second padding portion (34) overlies the second mating surface.

Abstract: A cushion assembly (26) having premolded first and second skins (10 and 12). The first and second skins having first and second ends longitudinally spaced by a top and bottom edge surface. The cushion assembly also includes an elastic attachment (16) bonding the first and second skins together to form a watertight seal therebetween. The elastic attachment having a substantially circular cross-section. First and second indentations (28) are formed in the second skin. The first mounting indentation is formed a predetermined distance from the first end of the cushion assembly. The second mounting indentation is formed a predetermined distance from the second end of the cushion assembly. Each mounting indentation having an O-ring (44) positioned around the mounting indentations to reinforce the mounting indentations.
