Abstract: A method and device for manufacturing the covers of a book using a surface material and cover pieces glued to it. In order to glue the cover pieces to the surface material, a device equipped with a work table is used, on top of which the surface material is positioned. The cover pieces are glued to the surface material by supporting one end of them, in the initial stage, free of the glue surface with the aid of a shelf-like support piece and commencing gluing from a point farthest from the said end.
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for glue-binding a bundle of paper to form a book, booklet, or similar, by using a band, to be glued to the spine of the bundle, and which extends for a limited distance to the sides of the bundle, and which is intended to shape the bundle. The turning of that part of the band, which extends over the spine, to the side of the bundle, is ensured by using a tool, such as a sheet, under the band, which extends sufficiently to lie on top of the nipping beam already in the area outside of the edge of the band.
Abstract: A method and device for additional pressing during a page nipping event in the adhesive binding of books or corresponding objects. One part of the cover (1) and the spine of the book are folded around the block (2) formed by the book's pages and glued on the spine of the block. The other part of the cover is folded into shape by means of a moveable jaw (8). The aforementioned folding of the cover (1) is accomplished by the aid of an additional compactor (9) acting by way of a stiffening brace (10) supporting the block (2). Alternatively, the process may be aided directly by the flexible support (7) by, for example, making a fold in the support (7) which causes it to function as a spring.

Abstract: A method and a device for making book covers using surface material and cover pieces to be glued onto it. Cover pieces are positioned in the desired location in clamp, that can be rotated around axis, and the pieces are supported by means of stoppers into the desired position. After this, the cover pieces are rotated around axis, while still in the clamp, onto the adhesive surface of surface material sheet, and are pressed onto it.
