Abstract: An improved method of producing elastomeric sealing devices having a plurality of removable concentric sizing rings is provided wherein the size of said first face is increased to create an extended elastomeric mounting face such that the cross-sectional area of the first face disposed against said chuck is at least 150% of the cross-sectional area of the body of said device.
Abstract: A seal assembly comprising an elastomeric gland having insert openings and fastener openings. Elastomeric inserts are removably disposed in the gland insert openings. The inserts have removable portions to form cable openings. Cable(s) can be placed in the cable openings. End plates are disposed at each end of the inserts and gland. The end plates are formed of complementary plate members, which, when mated together, form an unitized end plate having fastener openings and cable openings. Upon installing the seal assembly in an elongate container opening, fasteners, which extend through the gland and end plates, are tightened. The gland expands outward and contacts the wall forming the container opening. The gland constricts on the inserts, and, in turn, the inserts constrict on the cable(s) located in an insert.

Abstract: A method of making a plurality of concentric ring cuts in a pliable device such as an elastomeric seal, by rotating the device at a speed to generate a desired centrifugal force and cutting into the rotating device with a knife while flushing the knife and elastomeric device to produce a device having one or more sets of concentric rings with each set comprised of one or more rings.
