Publication number: 20050045225Abstract: Provided is an apparatus for supplying standby power which comprises a means for supplying standby power based on a solar cell and another means for supplying standby power based on an industrial/domestic power supply, wherein the two means are selectively used by switching. The apparatus aims at saving, as much as possible, the energy consumption by the supply of standby power from the industrial/domestic power supply while maintaining the supply of standby power. The apparatus further aims at avoiding that, when the supply of standby power is switched between the two standby power supply means, data present at that instant in a personal computer to be supplied with the standby power and/or preset information stored in a microprocessor incorporated in an electric/electronic device will disappear.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 17, 2004Publication date: March 3, 2005Applicant: MARANTZ JAPAN, INC.Inventor: Yutaka Sekine

Publication number: 20040257535Abstract: A projector apparatus comprising a digital micromirror device (DMD) means is disclosed. According to this apparatus, it is possible to carry out the detection of color temperature and the adjustment of white balance with respect to the projection light in a light condition in a convenient manner. It is further possible to shift the position of the picture formed by the projection light on the screen. A projector apparatus (1) is constructed comprising a shutter (7) disposed downstream of the projection optics means (6) for blocking the projection light and a sensor means (8) attached to the shutter (7). Another projector apparatus (1a) is constructed comprising a sliding means (18a) for causing a projection optics means (8a) to be slid relative to a casing (2a) constituting the apparatus body in a parallel relation to the optical axis of the projection optics means (8a) and a follow-up means (19a) for causing a sensor means (10a) to follow the projection optics means (8a).Type: ApplicationFiled: March 17, 2004Publication date: December 23, 2004Applicant: MARANTZ JAPAN, INC.Inventors: Nobutomo Tanaka, Eiichi Kamino

Publication number: 20040208096Abstract: A recording/reproducing apparatus (100) for recording a received signal as digital data in a file format and for reproducing the digital data stored in the file format is disclosed. A control means (101) carries out such a control in the recording mode that the digital data continuously received and stored in a buffer memory (150) is stored in a storage means (160) at a writing speed which is higher than a speed at which the digital data was stored in the buffer memory (150), while being divided into files in response to a division command from a manual input means (110).Type: ApplicationFiled: September 29, 2003Publication date: October 21, 2004Applicant: MARANTZ JAPAN, INC.Inventor: Mitsuhiro Urazoe

Patent number: 4922546Abstract: A radio facsimile interface unit is connected between a radio set provided with a speaker and a facsimile machine and also connected to a microphone stand provided with a microphone and a manually operable transmission switch. The interface unit is so structured to allow the radio set to carry out an ordinary audio communication using the speaker and the microphone. The radio set is normally set in a reception mode and the transmission switch is depressed only when audio information is to be transmitted. The interface unit is provided with a relay between the microphone and the radio set and the relay is disconnected when the facsimile is in a transmission mode, so that facsimile communication is given a higher priority than audio communication.Type: GrantFiled: October 3, 1988Date of Patent: May 1, 1990Assignees: Ricoh Company, Ltd., Marantz Japan, Inc.Inventors: Shuichi Takahashi, Kunihiro Yamanaka, Masanao Horiki

Patent number: 4613044Abstract: A compact disc case including lower and upper cases fixed by snap joints with enough space left in between for storing a compact disc. The lower case has at least three cushion holders to support the compact disc up above the bottom, and for preventing improper insertion of the case into a disc player, a control groove or a control shell is provided at least in either one of the upper and lower cases. The front edge wall of the lower case is provided with engagement holes, while the upper case has pawls to be engaged with the engagement holes, and also latches and latch locks engaging with each other are formed at the rear of the upper and lower cases. By means of this structure, the case with a compact disc in it can be inserted into a disc player for use without any improper insertion, and since the upper and lower cases can be readily detached from each other, the disc can be taken out and cleaned easily when the information-recording side gets dirty due to long periods of use or by accident.Type: GrantFiled: December 21, 1984Date of Patent: September 23, 1986Assignees: Nikkodo Co., Ltd., Marantz Japan Inc.Inventors: Ikuo Saito, Ryosuke Minakata, Yukio Suzuki
