Patent number: 11739532Abstract: An off-ridge roof ventilation device for placing on an opening of a roof deck. The ventilation device comprises an elongated main hood with a curved shape. The right end of the main hood is closed by a right-side panel, and the left end of the main hood is closed by a left-side panel. The main hood comprises a perforated top face and a venting opening on a bottom face. A throat panel is placed on the bottom face of the main hood in a manner to reduce the venting opening. A perforated interior panel is placed between the top face of the main hood and the throat panel to eliminate wind driven rain and/or snow even in high wind situations. The perforations are preferably designed as mini-louvers, wherein the mini-louvers of the main hood and the mini-louvers of the throat panel comprise the same shape and count the same number.Type: GrantFiled: December 10, 2019Date of Patent: August 29, 2023Assignee: MARCO INDUSTRIES INC.Inventor: Albert Robida

Patent number: 10590654Abstract: A roofing system in a building structure having a ridge vent includes strips of composite material having a base material adapted to form a hermetic seal with the top surface of a roofing section and recesses in a top surface in which an air permeable material can be positioned. A strip is applied to roof sections adjacent to each side of a ridge vent so that a ridge cap can overlay the strips in spaced relation from the underlying roof sections and be sealingly secured to the roof sections. The strip material establishes a barrier between the ridge cap and the roof sections through which air can pass, but through which the passage of rain and insects is inhibited.Type: GrantFiled: May 6, 2016Date of Patent: March 17, 2020Assignee: Marco Industries, Inc.Inventors: Mark D. Polumbus, Daniel Housley, Robert P. Harris
