Abstract: Apparatus, method, and system for combining a plurality of items into a batch having a set number of items. Number of items are put together onto a production line to form a batch along with non-batch items which are not suitable for inclusion within the batch onto the production line. The batch is advanced on the production line as a partial batch without the non-batch item being added to it when a batch is not complete. A reminder batch is created after the non-batch items have been added to the production line and the remainder batch includes the number of items that must be added to the partial batch to make a full batch.

Abstract: A parallel-type displacement device having at least three arms each pivoting about a pivot axis, the pivot axes defining a polygon as seen from a point above the device, wherein each of the arms is actuated by an actuator and each of the arms is further connected to a head defining a small base through linking members respectively articulated on the head and the arm, each said arm and its respective head forming a hinge having two degrees of freedom such that the head always maintains its position and orientation, and in which in a neutral position, each arm is arranged so that, if drawing from the geometrical center of the polygon a straight line that is parallel to the pivot axis of any one of the arms, the straight line intersects that arm.

Abstract: A method and a system for tracing items through a non-synchronized process are disclosed. Information relating to items going through processing is obtained by a control mechanism, such as any processing device or an autonomous robot for transferring the item. The placement or position of the item after processing or transfer is stored as traceable information for the transferred items in a data base and the information relating to the item on arrival and the information after processing or transfer then contributes to historic information about the items.

Abstract: A method and a computer program product for batching items are disclosed including the steps of: selecting a first item for a batch, analyzing the characteristics of the selected item, creating a profile of the selected item, and determining qualification criteria for forthcoming items. The qualification criteria for the forthcoming items based on the profile created from the first item selected for the batch with the analysis of the characteristics of an item based on one or more of the following: weighing the item, recording and processing an image of the item, for determining one or more of the following characteristics: the thickness of the item, the color of the item, and/or the shape of the item. The characteristics are used for creating a profile of the item.
