Patent number: 8717162Abstract: A method for controlling guiding, signal or alert lights, particularly signal lights for an emergency escape route in a fire situation, in which method there are controlled sequentially arranged light sources, such as LED light sources. In the method, in the first step the sequentially arranged light sources (40), which are most advantageously arranged as a light source string (4) or at least as part thereof, are activated, on the basis of a signal received from a fire detector (3), to be switched to a first mode, in which first mode the sequentially arranged light sources are used for indicating the direction of an escape route, and/or to a second mode, where the light sources (40) are switched to emit continuous light. The invention also relates to a system and a device.Type: GrantFiled: June 4, 2009Date of Patent: May 6, 2014Assignee: Marimils OYInventor: Göran Sundholm

Patent number: 8570184Abstract: A method for guiding, controlling or warning people, particularly for controlling and guiding people to a desired route, e.g. an emergency exit, in a dangerous situation, in which method, a person is guided by means of audio sources. In the method, audio sources (1a, 1b, 1c, 1d, 1e, 1f, 1g, 1h) arranged successively at a distance from each other are activated to produce sound, in which the audio sources successively arranged in the space guide the direction of an exit route by producing an audio signal with the audio source against the travel direction of the guided route (6).Type: GrantFiled: September 2, 2009Date of Patent: October 29, 2013Assignee: Marimils OyInventor: Göran Sundholm

Patent number: 8531193Abstract: Proximity of a person causes a change in a capacitance value of a sensor capacitor having a pair of capacitive plates. The change is detected by charging the sensor capacitor by coupling the sensor to a voltage supply. The supply is disconnected from a tank capacitor during the charging. The charge is transferred from the sensor capacitor to a tank capacitor. The supply is disconnected from the tank capacitor during the charge transfer. The charging and charge transfer are repeated several times. The voltage of the tank capacitor is monitored. At least one value is determined which depends on the rate of change of the voltage of the tank capacitor. The capacitance of the tank capacitor may be several orders of magnitude higher than the capacitance of the sensor capacitor. The large tank capacitor acts as a part of a low-pass filter which effectively filters out signal noise.Type: GrantFiled: June 19, 2008Date of Patent: September 10, 2013Assignee: Marimils OyInventors: Petri Välisuo, Juhani Virtanen, Kari Kymäläinen, Laurentiu Barna, Jarkko Mäkiranta

Patent number: 8442800Abstract: The system according to the invention interprets sensor observations by tracking objects and by collecting information about the objects by means of the tracking and by using this information for affirming events linked to the objects and in producing information describing the events. The system detects events according the conditions defined for them, on the basis of sensor observations. The conditions can relate to the essence of the objects, e.g. to the strength of the observations linked to the object, to the size and/or shape of the object, to a temporal change of essence and to movement. The event conditions used by the system can comprise conditions applying to the location of the object. The system according to the invention can be used e.g.Type: GrantFiled: February 25, 2009Date of Patent: May 14, 2013Assignee: Marimils OyInventors: Juha Lindström, Otso Auterinen

Publication number: 20120125719Abstract: System for controlling the elevators in an elevator system, which elevator system comprises a number of elevators (1A . . . 1H). The system comprises first sensor means (2, 2A . . . 2H), which are arranged in the waiting area of each elevator (1A . . . 1H) on each floor (F, F1, F2, F3 . . . Fn), which sensor means (2, 2A . . . 2H) are fitted to give information about the presence and number of passengers waiting for an elevator at least in the waiting area in question; means for controlling the elevators, which means are fitted to receive information from the sensor means (2, 2A . . . 2H) about the presence and number of passengers waiting for an elevator and to control the movement of the elevators of the elevator system utilizing the information received from the sensor means.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 12, 2010Publication date: May 24, 2012Applicant: Marimils OyInventors: Göran Sundholm, Palle Stevn
