  • Patent number: 8215254
Abstract: In a sea chest defining a hull opening and an interior, a sea chest cover for covering the hull opening and allowing water to flow in and out of the sea chest interior is combined with a sea chest liner for lining the sea chest interior, wherein the sea chest cover and the sea chest liner are made of a non-metallic material. In one aspect of the invention, the sea chest cover has one or more apertures formed therein for allowing water to flow in and out of the sea chest interior, and the one or more apertures are configured to prevent or reduce cavitations. In another aspect of the invention, the sea chest liner is a coating of a non-metallic material applied to the sea chest interior. In yet another aspect of the invention, the sea chest liner being designed to have adjustable lateral dimensions.

  • Patent number: 7835222
Abstract: An anti-biofouling seismic streamer casing (100,100?) is provided that is formed by a flexible tubing (110) coated with a layer of a two-part heat cured silicone elastomer (120). The seismic streamer casing (100, 100?) is formed by a method that includes steps of providing a flexible tubing (200) and pre-treating the outer surface of the tubing (210). Two parts of a two-part silicone elastomer are then mixed together (220). The method also includes coating the mixed two-part silicone elastomer on the flexible tubing (230), and heating the flexible tubing to cure the coating (240).

  • Publication number: 20060105645
Abstract: An outboard jet drive marine system for a boat comprising a housing. The housing is adapted to be affixed behind a hull of a boat. An engine is disposed within the housing. A jet drive unit is mounted to the housing in parallel to and vertically oriented to the engine, and is operatively coupled to the engine. The engine has an exhaust and cylinders, and a turbocharger operatively coupled between the exhaust and cylinders. The turbocharger has a housing for receiving the exhaust and a turbine assembly. The exhaust rotates the turbine assembly. The turbine assembly provides compressed air to the cylinders. The housing has a diameter dimensioned to control the exhaust gas volume and speed to optimize the turbine speed of the turbine assembly to reduce back pressure. The fuel is cooled as it exits the engine.
