Abstract: A freight transport carrier comprises a tractor unit, a slave tray loading unit, and a slave tray actuation mechanism. The tractor unit comprises a chassis, a plurality of wheels coupled to the chassis, and a power source configured to selectively provide rotational motion to the plurality of wheels. The slave tray loading unit is coupled to the chassis of the tractor unit and comprises a plurality of slave trays. At least one of the plurality of slave trays is an actuatable slave tray that is selectively actuatable between a first or lowered position, in which the actuatable slave tray is configured to receive a load, and a second or raised position, in which the actuatable slave tray is configured to transport the load. The slave tray actuation mechanism is configured to selectively actuate the actuatable slave tray between the first or lowered position and the second or raised position.

Abstract: An apparatus for transferring leaking drums to a salvage drum utilizing a liftgate assembly having a vertical rail for supporting a liftgate and a drive mechanism for raising and lowering the vertical rail, the apparatus including a lift boom assembly having a chain mounted thereon with a drum lifting clamp secured to the chain for engaging the leaking drum and a pair of tubular pocket assemblies mounted in a vertically spaced relation on the vertical rail and a pair of pin assemblies mounted on the lift boom assembly for matingly engaging the pocket assembly whereby the lift boom assembly can be pivoted with respect to the liftgate assembly and removed for storage in the vehicle.
Abstract: An apparatus for securing and releasing a stake in a stake pocket comprises a spring having a fastening end and a latch end. The fastening end is attached to an inside surface of the stake and the spring is biased such that the latch end positively engages the stake pocket. A selectively actuable release that effects the disengagement of the latch end of the spring from the pocket is also included. The release is disposed such that it may be actuated by a user's foot, when the user is standing at the level of the stake pocket in an upright position.

Abstract: A recessed latch mechanism for closing and maintaining closed a flexible covering across the side of truck bodies, truck trailer or the like. The latch mechanism has a gripping arm connected to a rotatable shaft through an intermediate curved member. When the shaft is rotated from an open position to a closed position, the curved member closely abuts the shaft along its entire curved portion. The gripping arm substantially encloses the other components of the latch mechanism.
