Patent number: 6655661Abstract: A device for heaving in and paying out a chain by means of a hydraulic cylinder which by means of gripping devices engages the chain and lifts or lowers the chain a given distance while the locking device is deactivated. The structure comprises a frame provided with a lower locking device, a chain wheel guiding the chain, and an upper gripping device mounted in a bracket which is connected to the rod head of the hydraulic cylinder and the central axle of the chain wheel. The lower locking device is formed by two pawls which are pivotally mounted on separate pins. These pawls engage under a chain link and hold it securely. The upper gripping device is formed by at least one pawl which, together with a chain wheel having pockets for the chain, engages under a vertical chain link.Type: GrantFiled: December 11, 2001Date of Patent: December 2, 2003Assignee: Maritime Pusnes ASInventors: Jon Hovik, Knut T. Patent number: 6484658Abstract: A bow loading arrangement for shuttle tankers where the mooring winch drum and hose handling winch drum are operated both together and independently of each other by the same drive unit. The winch may be placed on the main deck, and by using guide pulleys both the hose handling rope and the mooring hawser can be guided to the respective drums.Type: GrantFiled: February 26, 2001Date of Patent: November 26, 2002Assignee: Maritime Pusnes ASInventor: Lars Aaness

Patent number: 6435121Abstract: A holding and guiding device for a mooring chain, mounted pivotally about a vertical axis (5) and having an integrated chain stopper (2) mounted above the glide track (4) on top of the fairlead. The glide track (4) has a longitudinal slot (11) providing room for the standing links (9) of the chain and has flat parts (3) supporting the lying links (8) of the chain in order to avoid that these become subjected to bending moments when the chain is loaded. In the middle of the flat parts (3) the glide track has deviations (12) providing room for the welds of the chain. Between the flat parts (3) the glide track (4) is evenly rounded in the longitudinal direction. The slot (11) of the glide track has one or more shallower parts which, when the chain is pulled in, force the standing links (9) outwards so that they in turn lift the ends of the lying links (8) of the chain away from the glide track (4).Type: GrantFiled: April 25, 2001Date of Patent: August 20, 2002Assignee: Maritime Pusnes ASInventor: Knut T. Patent number: 5909869Abstract: A device for heaving in chain (2,3) vertically by means of a locking device for the chain comprises one or more pawls (14,14') which engage the chain (2,3) in a combined hydraulic lifting (8) and gripping device (12) with an equivalent pawl system and an approximately 180.degree. guide device (1) for the chain. The guide device (1) and the lifting (8) and gripping device (12) are integrated in one unit in that the semicircular guide device (1) is hinged in the area which is furthest away from the incoming part of the chain, and that the gripping device consists of one or more pawls (12) which can hold the chain while it lies in its track (4,5) in the guide device (1). A hydraulic lifting cylinder (8) is hinged to the guide device (1) close to the incoming part of the chain.Type: GrantFiled: September 12, 1997Date of Patent: June 8, 1999Assignee: Maritime Pusnes ASInventors: Harry Sand.o slashed.y, Vidar Solstad
