Abstract: A plastic poster frame and display holder for replaceable posters, pictures and similar advertising or decorative material has extruded frame forming sections comprising hingedly connected front and back parts. A relatively resilient elongated plastic portion is integrally formed as part of the frame section and provides a biased clamping force for holding a poster of similar display between the hinged parts.
Abstract: A theft proof poster display device having front and back extruded portions pivotally connected to one another to define a frame forming member. The front portion defines a generally u-shaped member having smooth surfaces and rounded non-convoluted corners and the front and back portions are biased together under spring compression rendering a poster frame which cannot be gripped with enough frictional force to open the frame. An opener tool with lever arm and an integral inclined planar wedge member is engageable with the front portion of the frame for opening the poster display device.
Abstract: A preferred lightweight, portable sign and stand apparatus generally includes a plurality of ground-engaging legs secured to a longitudinally-extending elongated base assembly. The base assembly of the preferred apparatus includes clamping members for clampingly anchoring a thin, flat sign panel protruding generally upwardly therefrom. The sheet material of which the sign panel is composed is sufficiently rigid that the sign panel is self-supporting in its protruding relationship with the base assembly. The sign panel is sufficiently flexible and resilient, however, to bendably deflect in a generally lateral direction, without yielding, in response to transverse loads exerted thereon, thereby substantially preventing the sign and stand apparatus from tipping over. The sign and stand apparatus also preferably has a resultant or combined center of gravity that remains inboard of the engagement of the legs with the ground in order to further resist any tendency to tip over in high winds.

Abstract: A wind-resistant sign and stand apparatus is disclosed and generally includes a base assembly for supporting a sign panel protruding generally outwardly therefrom. The base assembly includes one or more flexible and resilient based members retained in a generally bow-shaped arcuate configuration. The base members are adapted to further deflect in response to wind or other loads in order to substantially prevent the sign and stand apparatus from tipping over.
Abstract: An improved sign and sign stand assembly is disclosed wherein the sign stand includes a mounting member for mounting the sign panel on a frame member of the stand. The frame member permits the sign assembly to laterally pivot or swing under side-wind loads in order to allow a resilient portion of the frame member to deflect generally along a predetermined plane, thereby substantially preventing the sign assembly and stand assembly from tipping over. The sign assembly further includes an improved device for attaching the sign panel to its associated support members or cross-braces. Such improved attachment device is especially advantageous in connection with flexible sign panels.
Abstract: A sign bracket for attaching a sign to a stand particularly useful for supporting two cross members to which a flexible sign is attached. The bracket includes a sleeve which slidably overfits a vertical stand member and includes a resilient latch which permits the sleeve to be located at various vertical positions on the stand. The sleeve is affixed to a pair of sign holding mechanisms forming a channel having an open end which receives a sign cross member and having a resilient latch member located at the channel open end which restrains the cross member within the channel.
Abstract: A multi-sided display device for mounting a plurality of sign panels on a pole is disclosed. The device is adaptable for all sizes and types of poles and signs, allows the signs to be rotatably adjusted around the pole to attain the optimum viewing orientation simultaneously from all directions, and also maintains the sign in a concentrically centered position relative to the axis of the pole. A sign holding mechanism is positioned at the top and bottom of the sign and is connected to a clamping mechanism, also at the top and bottom of the sign for securely mounting the device to a pole. The sign holding mechanism preferably comprises a ring or hoop and a plurality of brackets or clips which attach the signs to the ring. The clamping mechanism has means for adjustment to a wide variety of sizes and shapes of poles.
Abstract: An improved poster frame and display holder for replaceable posters and similar advertising material. The sides of the frame comprise sets of pivotably engaged extruded metal parts. Improved leaf-type spring mechanisms bias together the portions of each side of the frame for releasably holding a poster or similar display.
Abstract: A panel framing device particularly suited for enclosing unused openings in buildings and the like is disclosed. The framing device comprises a plurality of perimeter and interior framing members adapted to be attached to the building to retain one or more decorative panels therein and to conceal the manner in which they are secured to the building. The interior framing members comprise a cover portion and a base portion which are integrally locked together to prohibit removal thereof.
