  • Patent number: 7802416
Abstract: A method of bagging an article into a bag comprising: providing a web of stretchable film folded in two so as to provide first and second superposed bag panels, selecting a length of stretchable film as a function of the article to be bagged, cutting the film at the selected length, sealing the bag panels at the length to form a bag having an opening for receiving the article, stretching the bag in a taut open state, and lowering the bag in the taut open state thereof over the article.

  • Patent number: 7314662
Abstract: The present invention provides an elastomeric film having anti-skid properties. The film comprises one or more layers, wherein at least one of the layers comprises from 0.1 to 10% (by weight) of an anti-skid additive, which does not melt, or has a melt temperature greater than 500° F., and has a particle size between 50 and 500 microns. Suitable anti-skid additives may be sand, clay, silica, crosslinked polyethylenes, other polymers or ultra high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE). Also provided is a resin composition and a method for manufacturing an elastomeric film having anti-skid properties.

  • Patent number: 7114311
Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided for the automated wrapping of a bundle with a resilient stretchable film. The method comprises the steps of (i) unrolling a desired length of the film from a roll. The film has a first panel overlapping a second panel. The panels are interconnected at a sealed first end. (ii) Sealing a second end of the panels to bond them together by a second seal at the desired length. (iii) Cutting the film along the second seal to form a tube. (iv) Separating the first panel of the tube from the second panel by grasping film edges of each of the panels, whereby the tube may be opened. (v) Loading the tube in an opened position on an expandable frame, whereby at least a portion of the tube is accumulated in a folded condition on the expandable frame. (vi) Stretching the tube by expanding the expandable frame.

  • Publication number: 20040209100
Abstract: The present invention provides a protective masking film that can adhere to and provide protection to the surface of a substrate, without the use of an adhesive. The masking film comprises two or more layers of which one of the outer layers is formed from Mxsite™ and the other outer layer formed from a polymer or polymers other than Mxsite™. The masking film is retackable. Also provided are compositions and methods for producing the protective masking film.

  • Patent number: 5732745
Abstract: A thermoplastic tube for in-field storage or packaging of bales of agricultural products is disclosed. The tube combines high puncture resistance with an exceptional stretchability, elasticity and good slip properties. The circumference of the tube can be expanded by at least 15% without tearing when stretched in the transverse direction. The tube also shows no substantial permanent deformation 2 hours after being so stretched for a period of time not exceeding 30 minutes and released. Before feeding a bale, the tube is stretched radially to facilitate the insertion and accommodate bales larger than original diameter of the tube. When regaining the original size, the tube wraps up tightly the bales reducing the amount of air trapped in the tube. Since the tube can be enlarged to a variable extent, it may accommodate bales of different shapes and sizes.
