Abstract: A system configured to provide supplemental heating or cooling is provided. Some embodiments may include the fixture having an air movement device and a back surface configured for a flush mount on a wall, the back surface having a recess sized to substantially the same dimensions of a cover of an electrical outlet. The flush mount may provide a degree of permanence for the fixture that satisfies a criterion.
Abstract: A heater includes: a controller; a user input operatively connected to the controller; and a lighting system operatively connected to, and controlled by, the controller, the lighting system configured to illuminate outside the heater along a length of the heater. A method of displaying light includes: attaching a lighting system to a heater; operatively connecting the lighting system to a controller; operatively connecting a user input device to the controller; and configure the controller to illuminate the light system to provide indirect lighting to a room in which the heater is located.
Abstract: An apparatus and a method for purifying and heating air using photocatalytic oxidation. The apparatus includes a housing, a heater, and a photocatalytic oxidation unit disposed within the housing. The housing defines a flow path for air to move through the apparatus such that air from the environment is drawn into the apparatus and passes over the photocatalytic oxidation unit. A pollutant in the air from the environment adsorbs to a surface of the photocatalytic material coating the plates, and the surface of the photocatalytic material is exposed to ultraviolet light generated by the ultraviolet light source. The energy of the ultraviolet light activates the photocatalytic material, which then breaks down the pollutant leaving non-toxic components and purified air. The air then passes over the heater and back into the environment. A fan is also included to move air through the flow path.

Abstract: A radiant heater includes a radiant heat source and a reflector to direct the bulk of the heat generated by the radiant source in one direction. The shape of the reflector determines the radiant pattern of the heater, and generally defocuses the output to provide a diffuse heat pattern that is substantially free of hot spots.
