Abstract: A lug nut cover is provided having a breakage shroud for restricting access to the lug nut and a retaining cap for securing the shroud to the lug. The shroud includes an internal ledge having ratchet teeth thereon. The cap includes an exterior flange having pawls thereon. When the cap is threaded onto the lug, the ledge engages the flange at a predetermined position to stop forward threading. From this predetermined position, the pawl/ratchet arrangement prevents reverse threading.
Abstract: A brake shoe assembly for a vehicle includes a generally arcuate platform, to which a pad of friction lining is attached, and which is selectively connectable to a pair of supporting webs. Each web has a plurality of radially extending peripheral projections received by corresponding slots provided in the platform. Clamp members are provided for pressing the webs against the platform such that the projections and slots cooperate to locate the webs immovably on the platform. The platform and friction lining may thereby be removed from the webs while the webs remain installed within the brake drum of the vehicle.
Abstract: A fastener for the protection of vehicle wheels, including a skirt member which fits around the wheel lug nut and a retainer member which is threaded onto the exposed end of the lug and overlies a part of the skirt member. The retainer member is recessed into the skirt member and includes a socket part which strips upon tightening to prevent removal of the retainer member from the lug.
