Abstract: The present invention relates to a device for delivering audio and/or visual messages for marketing purposes. The device comprises a detection means to detect that a person is present within a predetermined detection area, which may be proximate a product to be marketed, means for determining whether the person is interested in the product and means for delivering a message if it is determined that the person may he interested in the product. The determination means preferably comprises a means for timing how long the person stays in the detection area continuously. This time is a predetermined time period, then a message will be delivered. The device in accordance with the present invention is preferably able to be networked with other devices and/or includes an updatable memory so that control and message data can be updated from a central location in accordance with a marketing campaign. The device is also arranged to gather statistic information on the campaign.
