  • Patent number: 9764921
Abstract: The folding pocket device for a buckle folding machine includes a folding pocket having a feed-in aperture enabling a sheet to run therethrough in a running-in direction into a pocket space of the folding pocket. A sheet stop device includes a sheet stop extending essentially transversely to the running-in direction in the pocket space, which is displaceable in the running-in direction and in the opposite direction. A sheet directing device includes a diverting device, which is displaceable from a clearance position in which the diverting device opens up the way to the feed-in aperture into the folding pocket to a diverting position in which the diverting device blocks the feed-in aperture in order to divert a sheet. In order to achieve quick switching from the clearance position to the diverting position, the diverting device can be displaced from the clearance position to the diverting position by the sheet stop when the sheet stop is displaced opposite to the running-in direction.

  • Patent number: 9567178
Abstract: The device for producing packages of stacked materials consisting of a plurality of individual signatures comprises a first conveying unit, which defines a signature path. The first conveying unit moves the signatures along the signature path into a vertical position. The device also comprises a stacking table with a support surface for supporting the signatures, which are arriving with a vertical orientation. The stacking table comprises a second conveying unit, which moves the stacked signatures in a conveying direction of the stack. A control unit switches a tilting device between an active state, in which the tilting device tilts or compresses an upper area of the stacked signatures, and an inactive state, in which the tilting device exerts no effect on the stacked signatures.

  • Patent number: 8192340
Abstract: A buckle plate device for a folding machine comprises a buckle plate (10) and a sheet stopping means for stopping a sheet (24) running into the buckle plate (10) in the intake direction, wherein the sheet stopping means is formed by a clamping means (26) which clamps the incoming sheet (24) in order to stop it and preferably automatically releases the clamping at the onset of tractive forces of the subsequent rollers. Hereby a buckle plate device is provided which requires little space and makes it possible to fold sheets with comparably low noise development without a mechanical stop in a sheet-edge controlled manner or in a print-image controlled manner at a high sheet transport speed.

  • Publication number: 20050239621
Abstract: In the method for monitoring the position of a sheet (36, 38, 48) transported in a folding machine, during the transport of the sheet (36, 38, 48), at a detection location, the positions of a sheet edge (37, 39, 49) running substantially in the transport direction (TR) are determined by a detection device (32, 34, 46). Measured values corresponding to the positions detected are then passed on to a processor device by the detection device (32, 34, 46). The processor device calculates a measured curve (MK1, MK2, MK3) on the basis of the detected measured values and the travel of the sheet (36, 38, 48) through the detection location and compares this with a previously determined reference curve (RK). The processor device outputs an error signal if the measured curve (MK1, MK2, MK3) deviates from the reference curve (RK).

  • Publication number: 20050239624
Abstract: A folding unit has at least one pair of folding rollers including an adjustable folding roller and a stationary folding roller or two adjustable folding rollers. At least two pressure measuring devices are associated to one adjustable folding roller, the pressure measuring devices being arranged at a distance from one another and measuring pressure values when a sheet passes therethrough. The pressure values correspond to pressures which are exerted on said sheet by the adjustable folding roller at two measurement points which are spaced apart transversely with respect to a sheet running direction. The pressure measuring devices forward measured pressure values to a processing device. Each adjustable folding roller is connected kinematically to a corresponding drive at two connection points which are spaced apart transversely with respect to the sheet running direction.
