Abstract: A bolsterless bogie for rail vehicles has at least one link which is directly connected to the bogie frame and the rail vehicle center pivot by means of wear-free rubber joints and connecting pins. Rubber buffers limit the transverse motion between center pivot and bogie frame; vertical forces are transmitted by air-spring bellows arranged in the vehicle center plane between the underframe and the bogie side sill, and stops effective in the travel direction are provided between center pivot and bogie frame.

Abstract: An apparatus for venting and deaerating a liquid circuit, such as the coolant circuit of an internal combustion engine, has a surge tank with an air-side port and a liquid-side port. Installed in the air-side port is a tube, through one end of which liquid to be deaerated is admitted at a certain velocity. The tube has a longitudinally extending lateral slot through which the admitted liquid is discharged; opposite the slot is located a baffle onto which the discharged liquid impinges over a large surface area. This causes even small air bubbles to be liberated from the liquid so as to remain in the air-side part, whereas the deaerated liquid runs off the baffle and into the liquid-side part of the surge tank.

Abstract: An articulated omnibus having a two-axle leading member, a single-axle trailing member, and an engine aft of the trailing member axle. The forward wheelbase between the front and center axles is approximately equal to the rear wheelbase between the center and rear axles. The front overhang is about 1/6 to 1/7 of the forward wheelbase, and the rear overhang is about 1/2 to 1/3 of the forward wheelbase. Passenger entrances near the front and center axles have thresholds lower than the central portion of the forward member. A driver's seat and compartment are located above the front axle.

Abstract: A method of recovering water from atmospheric air wherein during an adsorption phase, cool, humid air is transported through a water-adsorbent material for adsorption of water vapor therefrom and wherein during a desorption phase warmer, drier air is transported through the adsorbent material for pickup of water from said adsorbent material, said desorption phase comprising the steps of generating a first air stream in a closed-loop path through a heater for heating the first air stream and thence to the adsorber material and back through heater, continuing step (a) for a predetermined time, generating a second air stream by divering a portion of the first air stream for circulation from the adsorber material through a condenser for yielding water therefrom by condensation, and joining the second air stream to the first air stream after passage of the second air stream through the condenser, whereby the second air stream may be heated by the heater and passed through the adsorbent material.
Abstract: This invention relates to seals for the knuckle pins connecting the legs of a drilling and/or production platform to the knuckle posts which are connected to spud tanks.

Abstract: A process and an apparatus for recovering water from moist gas, e.g., humid air, are disclosed. The apparatus comprises fans, solar energy collectors, moisture absorber beds, and heat-accumulators which are connected by conduit means in such a manner that in a first reaction stage, e.g., at night time, moist gas, e.g., humid air, is sucked into the apparatus, is divided into two partial flows, the first of which is passed through the absorber beds in parallel or in series, whereby water is absorbed in the absorber beds, and then discharged and the second of which is passed through the heat-accumulators in series and then discharged, and that in a second reaction stage, e.g.
