  • Patent number: 4548369
Abstract: A thread withdrawn from a bobbin is passed along a straight line through a plate brake. A base brake plate is driven by a drive extending outside the periphery of the base brake plate. A tensioning device removably attached to a top brake plate is connected therewith by a ball snap-type connection. It comprises a first compression spring with one end supported at a gripping sleeve and slideable along a pressing pin surrounded by this compression spring. The gripping sleeve is connected to a displaceable control plate extending parallel to the pressing pin. This control plate permits a simultaneous variation and adjustment of the pressure exerted by a number of such similar tensioning devices. A second compression spring surrounding the pressing pin is supported at a side of the gripping sleeve remote from the first compression spring and counteracts the first compression spring, so that the difference of the spring forces acts upon the top brake plate.

  • Patent number: 4535956
Abstract: In a housing, two rollers having substantially parallel axes are freely rotatably journaled and bound between them a clamping bite. The thread to be braked is drawn through the clamping bite and thereby drives the rollers. A first of the two rollers is stationarily mounted in the housing. The second roller comprises a cover made of a rubber-elastic material. This second roller is journaled in a pivotable forked lever which is under the action of an angle lever. The second roller can be pressed against the stationary first roller with an adjustable operating bias by means of the angle lever and a force accumulator constituted by a tension spring. Spring means of a rapid braking device constitute a compression spring supported by a braking rod which is axially displaceable between two end positions. The compression spring acts upon a spring bush carrying a nose member. In one of the two end positions of the braking rod the nose member extends with play beneath an arm of the angle lever.

  • Patent number: 4420861
Abstract: In order to pivot lifting forks and press or contact roll arms, there is employed a single cylinder unit acting by means of a piston rod upon a crank arm of a shaft member. Rotation of this shaft member causes, by means of the press roll arms connected rigidly for rotation with such shaft member, pivoting of a press or contact roll. A lever which likewise is rigidly connected for rotation with the shaft member is hingedly connected with a pair of brackets at whose other end there is located a guide roller or roll which travels in a slotted guide of a guide lever carrying one of the lifting or lift forks for the lifting-in and lifting-out of the warp beam. The other lifting fork is carried by a second analogous guide lever. Both of the guide levers are operatively connected with a pivotal shaft.

  • Patent number: 4409710
Abstract: The centering and entrainment devices, by means of which the warp beam can be clamped or chucked, are axially slidably guided at side plates of the beam warping machine. With their outer ends they are hingedly connected at a respective lever. Both of the levers are pivotably mounted, by means of their one end about stationary pivot pins, in a plane which contains both of these pivot points as well as the axis of the warp beam. At their opposite ends both of the levers are interconnected by a rod arrangement, wherein a threaded sleeve having two opposite internal threads and rotatably mounted in one side plate allows changes in the length of such rod arrangement. Consequently, both of the levers can be synchronously and axially symmetrically moved towards and away from one another, so that the coaxially guided centering and entrainment devices can be symmetrically advanced towards and displaced out of the warp beam.

  • Patent number: 4359198
Abstract: A warp creel for a beam warping machine is disclosed which comprises a number of bobbins arranged in horizontal and vertical rows, a thread or yarn or the like being continuously withdrawn from such bobbins. At the region of a predetermined portion or section of the warp creel, at the rear region of such creel, there extend a multiplicity of rods which rise vertically over all of the levels or storeys of the warp creel and impart a deflection or turning motion to the threads of at least one vertical bobbin row. The rods are displaceably supported between a preparatory position orienting the individual rods in front of the thread tensioning and monitoring devices of the related bobbin rows and a bunched together or clustered terminal position located towards the creel delivery or outfeed side and serving to separate the threads.

  • Patent number: 4272038
Abstract: A disc brake, formed from a lower disc and an upper disc, is fitted on a carrier which is fastened in position to a warp creel part by means of a single screw. The lower disc rests on a rotary cage which carries a gearwheel. This gearwheel meshes with a pinion on a drive shaft. This drive shaft runs at the point where the thread coming out of the warp creel is to be deflected towards a lapping machine and thereby forms, at the same time, a driven deflecting rod for deflecting the thread. Moreover, connected turnably to the drive shaft is a beveled part which forms, with its surface, part of a peripheral positioning of the upper disc and, at the same time, causes the upper disc to turn intermittently via the frictional connection with this upper disc. A pressure element, which is clamped releasably in a clamping piece, acts centrally on the upper disc.

  • Patent number: 4236391
Abstract: Within the housing of a steamer there is arranged below a group of deflection rolls for the substantially zig-zag guiding of a textile web in a spread apart or open width condition a roll bed formed of rolls upon which the web, following its passage through the deflection rolls, is deposited in a folded or plaited condition by means of a rod roll and can be further transported. So that the web can be subjected to a short time treatment, within the same steamer, without using the roll bed, and thus, can be adequately supported in the sense of guiding the web in open width, one roll, even possibly a number of rolls, of the roll bed can be pivoted out of the region of the roll bed in order to assume a second work or operating position which supports the web guided in an open width or spread apart condition through the entire steamer. This pivotable roll is mounted at one end of a lever of a lever pair or lever means which can be pivoted about a shaft from externally of the steamer housing.

  • Patent number: 4186896
Abstract: An anti-ballooning apparatus for a bobbin creel arranged between a bobbin mounted upon a bobbin holder of the creel and the thread guide and thread monitoring device operatively associated with such bobbin. The anti-ballooning apparatus prevents contact and/or entanglement of the thread balloon formed during withdrawal of the thread from the bobbins of the creel. This anti-ballooning apparatus comprises two parallel rods located at the central region between the thread guide and monitoring device and the bobbin and extending in a plane perpendicular to the thread withdrawal direction. These two parallel rods can be moved out of their functional or operational position parallel to themselves away from the bobbin holder into a manipulation position where their spacing from the end of the bobbin holder renders possible withdrawal or doffing of a bobbin mounted on the holder and equally donning a bobbin onto such holder.

  • Patent number: 4141120
Abstract: An apparatus for controlling the movements of a reed carriage of a warping machine during warping a package composed of successive adjacent warp sections wound onto the warping drum of the warping machine, wherein the displacement of the carriage for producing the shifted deposition of the warp section-layers during winding is accomplished by a reed carriage-displacement spindle which is driven by means of a pre-adjustable change-speed gearing as a function of the rotation of the warping drum.
