Abstract: A method and apparatus for recovering heat energy which is contained in the vapors of multi-stage evaporators utilized for thermal material-separation processes. According to the method, the vapors are supplied to at least one expulsion stage and to at least one vaporizing stage, whereby in the expulsion stage easily volatized or low boiling components of a multi-material mixture are vaporized, and in the vaporizing stage, at a pressure greater than the pressure in the expulsion stage, easily volatized components entering the vaporizing stage are vaporized; furthermore, the vaporous, easily volatized components at the higher pressure are supplied, along with the residue or remainder (the so-called residual mixture) of the multi-material mixture existing after the expulsion procedure, to an absorption stage; in addition, heating-steam or vapor is recovered by means of the heat resulting during the absorption stage.
Abstract: A multistage evaporator plant having combined vapor compressor and heat pump for recovery of the heat contained in the vapors. The evaporator section comprises several stages and a heat input, a condensate output and a vapor output. The vapor compressor can comprise a steam jet injector connected to a source of booster steam for providing steam power and connected to the heat input of the evaporator section, a distributor valve connected to an input of the steam jet injector.
Abstract: A process for removing acidic and other polluting components from flue gases exhausted from a boiler installation and passed through a preliminary air heater, then through a dust separator and desulphurization means; a partial current of the flue gases is branched off upstream of the air heater and passed through an auxiliary dust separator and a spray drier which is supplied with washing liquid from the desulphurization means, and thereupon the partial current is reunited with the main gas current downstream of the air preheater.
Abstract: An apparatus for evaporating with heat regeneration has a plurality of evaporating stages, and an absorber which accommodates a multi-component mixture and is connected with the evaporating stages so that the vapor is admitted into the absorber and absorbed by the mixture with generation of heat which is further utilized for the evaporating process per se or another process.
Abstract: Flue gas containing sulfur dioxide, carbon dioxide and other acidic components is desulfurized by washing it with an aqueous washing solution to which ammonia has been added in the stoichiometrically necessary amount for reaction with the sulfuroxides. The addition of the ammonia is so controlled that a predetermined amount of ammonium carbonate is maintained in the washing solution.
Abstract: An apparatus for processing liquids such as water or the like by means of a reverse osmosis device has a main pump which provides an entrance pressure to the reverse osmosis device in connection with a throttle. In order to avoid any losses of energy, another pump is connected to the main pump. Via a rigid shaft, a turbine is connected to the other pump which turbine receives the high pressure located in the concentrate and releases it to the other pump.
Abstract: Ammonium sulfate in dissolved form is dried in a gas current to obtain the ammonium sulfate in finely divided form. Thereafter the ammonium sulfate is quickly placed into a pelletizing device, subjected to a fine water spray, pelletized to substantially uniform grain size, and dried if necessary and/or desired.
