Abstract: An apparatus including left and right handle portions; a first blade portion; a first device; and a fastener. The fastener may be configured to connect in a first state, first ends of the left handle portion, the right handle portion, and the first blade portion to each other, with the first blade portion sandwiched between the left and right handle portions. The first device may be configured to connect second ends of the left and right handle portions and an intermediate part of the first blade portion. In at least one embodiment, in the first state the left and right handle portions, and the first blade portion are fixed to each other so that their orientation with respect to one another cannot be changed without disconnecting the fastener so that it no longer connects the first ends of the left and right handle portions, and the first blade portion.

Abstract: A knife including a blade section having a sharp edge, a J-shaped section, and a handle section connected to the J-shaped section. The J-shaped section may have a bottom portion connected to a stem portion, and a substantially uniform thickness. The sharp edge may have a thickness which is substantially less than the substantially uniform thickness of the J-shaped section. The handle section may have a thickness which is substantially greater than the uniform thickness of the J-shaped section. The blade section, the J-shaped section, and the handle section may be configured so that a person can place an index finger of the person so that an end of the index finger contacts the bottom portion of the J-shaped section and a length of the index finger contacts the stem portion of the J-shaped section, while simultaneously one or more further fingers of the person grip the handle section.

Abstract: An apparatus including a housing, and a knife connected to the housing, wherein the knife at least partially folds into the housing. The apparatus also may include a first device for cracking a vehicle windshield, wherein the first device is connected to the housing. The apparatus may also include a second device for cutting a vehicle seat belt, wherein the second device is connected to the housing and at least partially folds into the housing. The knife may be connected to the housing so that the knife rotates in order to at least partially fold into the housing. The first device may include a first spring so that the first device can be compressed into the housing or expanded away from the housing. The second device may be connected to the housing so that the second device rotates in order to at least partially fold into the housing.

Abstract: A cutting-tool holder (1) used for grinding includes a holder body (10) including a pair of pinching pieces (11, 11) biased to each other; and a pair of handgrips (30, 30) provided on the holder body (10) which sets the pair of pinching pieces (11, 11) apart from each other by applying force to the handgrips (30, 30). The holder body (10) may further include a connecting portion (12) with a nearly C-shaped cross section which connects base end parts (11c, 11c) of the pinching pieces (11, 11). Each handgrip (30) may be configured so that one end part (30a) is fixed to the pinching piece (11), the middle part penetrates the connecting portion (12), and the other end part extends away from the pinching piece (11).

Abstract: A folding knife is disclosed including a blade, a handle device, and a magnetic piece. The blade may be connected to the handle device so that the blade can pivot with respect to the handle device. The magnetic piece may be fixed to the handle device so that the magnetic piece attracts and pulls the blade into a closed position or into an open position by a magnetic attraction between the blade and the magnetic piece. The magnetic piece may be a post fixed between left and right side plates.

Abstract: An apparatus for opening a folding knife is provided. The apparatus may include a plate having an arcuate slot and a substantially linear slot. A cam slide may be provided comprised of an extension which extends into the substantially linear slot, and an opening into which a post connected to a blade device can be inserted. The extension of the cam slide typically can be moved in a substantially linear manner in the substantially linear slot. The substantially linear movement of the extension in the substantially linear slot causes a sharp edge of the blade device to come out of or go into a housing.

Abstract: A knife stand is comprised of a cover plate and a container shaped main body. An upper aperture of the main body is covered with the cover plate. Insert slits are provided on the cover plate to insert a base part of knife holders into the main body. At least one or more holder parts are provided on a bottom face of the inner main body to fix and hold a base part of each of the knife holders after said knife holders are inserted into the main body. Slot shaped insert parts are provided on the knife holders, respectively. Both a blade part and a grip part are inserted into the knife holders by turning the whole edge of the blade downward. Similarly, both a blade part and a grip part are inserted into the holder by turning the whole edge of the blade downward as well. Each holder parts and the main body are integrally molded with plastic. The holder parts are provided on the bottom face of the inner main body.
