  • Patent number: 7051397
Abstract: A multi-use tool device is provided with an actuator that is moveable to turn a tool relative to the tool device to change the angle of attack of the tool to the work or to change to a different work surface on the fool. Further, the tool device is releasably connected to the tool without the use of threaded fasteners or wrenches. An actuator on the tool is moved to release the tool and preferably to push the tool from the tool device so that the user need not touch a dirty or spent tool that may be coated with an adhesive, mastic or the like. Conversely, the tool may be attached by pushing the tool relative to the tool device. Also, the preferred tool is made in one piece with a connecting portion and a turning portion thereon. The illustrated tool has an upstanding post and angularly spaced teeth that cooperate with the tool device to allow the connected tool to be turned relative to the tool body.

  • Publication number: 20040155088
Abstract: A method and apparatus for fastening an elongated strip such as a felting strip or the like to a roof with the rolling of the apparatus along the roof. Preferably, the machine applies the staples at an acuate angle of about 30° to 40° to the longitudinal axis of the strip and staple gun extends at the acute angle with the user's arm also extending at this acute angle. The staple gun must be enabled by placing it against the roof before an actuation of the trigger will cause a firing of the staple. The strip may be mounted in a reel that is in a substantially vertical plane with a strip guide and point of application of the strip to the roofing felt so that the strip is not twisted in its travel from the reel to the roof. The strip may be severed by a severing device, as when reaching an edge of the roof, and automatic strip advancing device may be actuated to advance a new leading end of the strip for placement beneath the nose of the staple gun.

  • Patent number: 4872723
Abstract: A lightweight safety tray particularly suitable for use in the passenger compartment of a moving vehicle, and including a generally rectangular support frame of low density, highly resilient polymeric material, which frame has a flat bottom, front, rear and opposing side walls, with a sunken planar shelf in the upper surface portion of the frame which is bounded by upward extensions of the frame walls. The planar shelf has an array of regular shaped cavities in its upper surface which provides a grid of longitudinally and transversely extending ribs. A generally flat plastic corrugated board covers the planar shelf. There is a flexible, resilient plastic outer coating which envelopes the entire outer surfaces of the combined frame and corrugated board, and which holds the board in place, and whereby an upper tray working surface is provided which is bounded on four sides by the upward wall extensions.
