Abstract: A filter assembly for filtering water in spas, swimming pools, hot tubs and whirlpools, having a first or outer filter element, a second or inner filter element removably installed within the outer filter element, a first coupling member associated with the outer filter element, a second coupling member associated with the inner filter element, the first and second coupling members engaging one another to connect the inner filter element with the outer filter element, and a releasable detent arrangement resisting disengagement of the first and second coupling members from one another. The outer filter element includes a filter medium for mechanically removing particulates from a fluid to be treated and the inner filter element includes a filter medium containing fluid purifying particles.

Abstract: A method of operating a swimming pool with a circulating water flow. The method including the steps of discharging a jet of water and splitting the flow of water. The discharging step including the discharging of a jet of water from an outlet at a head end of the swimming pool into a swimming compartment, whereby the jet of water flows in a primary flow path toward a foot end of the swimming compartment. The splitting step including the splitting of the flow of water to define two circuitous flow paths, each said flow path having a return flow path flowing within said swimming compartment in a direction generally opposite to said primary flow path back toward said head end.

The surfaces have apertures through which water-tight housings may be raised and lowered. The housings hold components of the entertainment system and have tops larger in size than the apertures to form sealing areas engageable with the horizontal surfaces surrounding the apertures for sealing the apertures and the water-tight housings. A moving mechanism is provided to raise and lower the housings. The mechanism has a platform supported on a carriage movable vertically along a support column. A motor raises and lowers the platforms through a cable and pulley system. A motion limiting device having a pivoting arm which engages sensors communicating with the motor through a control system shuts the motor off in response to predetermined upper and lower limits of cable tension.

Abstract: A filter system for spas and swimming pools is disclosed having a primary filter containing a porous membrane made of multiple plies. A fluid purifying medium in the form of irregularly shaped copper and zinc alloy particles is captured between the plies and placed in contact with the spa water to kill bacteria and remove heavy metals, precipitates and chlorine as the water cycles through the filter. A micro filter for filtering particles surrounds the primary filter, the micro filter and primary filter are mounted in a chamber in fluid communication with the spa or pool. Another particulate filter is positioned upstream of the micro filter and primary filter. A secondary micro filter and primary filter provide filter capacity augmentation through a parallel flow path during periods of increased demand.

Abstract: A water tub for applying magnetic flux to a human back and neck including a water retaining wall whereagainst a human may place his back. Permanent magnets are affixed on the outside surface of the water retaining wall with an adhesive. The retaining wall and adhesive are made of non-magnetic materials. The magnetic flux field of each of the magnets travels through the retaining wall and beyond the wall inside surface and into a human's back placed adjacent thereto. A neck support pillow made of compressible foam is supported generally at the top of the water retaining wall and is adapted to support a human's neck. Magnets are embedded within the foam whereby the magnetic flux field thereof travels out from the pillow and beyond the inner surface into a human's neck placed adjacent thereto.
